2009 King Ranch - 56k Warning - LOTS of Photos Added

Special thanks to mfrunlimited for posting these pics! I believe he's the first 09' KR on the site!

https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...9-f150-kr.html

Notes:

1. It appears that they've definitely gone to chapparral leather. It now has some piping as well.
2. Heated and Cooled front seats appear to be STANDARD on the KR.
3. Sticker is 45k'ish (depending on options)(yeowch)
4. KR Emblem is reversed on the fender.
5. KR interior logos are embossed; not stitched.
6. Painted exterior handles (thank god). Looks like a chrome cap on the side-view mirrors (not too sure I like that from a looks perspective).
7. The 4x4 sticker on the box is very Toyota'ish. (opinion added, sorry).
8. KR logo on instrument cluster is still present.
9. Wood-grained shifter handle. Still no leather on the shifter or grab handles (ala Super Duty).
10. Still has vinyl side boards; no tubular side steps.
11. KR center caps on the wheels. Wheels do not appear to have painted accents any longer.

A few pics... more in link above.

Looks awesome, the leather looks different/darker to me compared to the 08s.

Very nice, although I must say it has lost some of the "rugged" look compared to the Castano seats in my opinion. Might just be cause its new, and not weatheredß yet.

I do like the piping though, very upscale.

That's correct... this is more of a 'chaparral' colored leather versus that of the castano in previous F-150's.

Castano was featured in every KR F-150 from 01 (first year) until 2008. This is the first model year that we've seen that has the chaparral-colored leather for the F-150.

The Super Duty went to this 'color' for the 08.

I do not believe that the Expy has gone this route -- yet.

I think the seat piping is a mistake.....it will get dirty very quickly.

Pity the wheels don't have the colored accent on them too.

The Chapparal leather just doesn't look as natural as the Castano but knowing the complaints and claims that Ford have received with Castano I can understand the switch.

The steering wheel could use partial wood accents if only to stop it getting so dirty over time.

Strangely though I still like it......
but not as much as our first KR F150, eh Brad ??!!

OK, I'll chime in too.

The leather looks "orange" to me - is that my computer? Colors in all other pictures are very accurate, so I doubt it. I don't care for the "stamped" KR logo in the seats, console, etc.

I sort of like the front end and the wheels - maybe I'm weird. :o

Hate the 4x4 sticker on the box.

Dash and radio panels look good to me. And, I like the way the glove box and it's surround looks. I like the shifter.

Cool that they have a built in electric brake controller.

If we don't have Castano, what the heck are we going to talk about on this formu?

Chapparal vs Castano

It looks like the new leather may hold up better to stains and skin oils but I'm not sure I care for the dark red/orange color. Heated/cooled seats is dentaley a good add though especially when its 100 degrees out..
