seat conditions

Hey Guys, I am wondering if you all would post pictures of your KR seats. Id like to see some of the older KR's maybe 2006-under. Would just like to see what other peoples seats look like. THANKS

OK, here's mine (in a 2005):

The pictures were taken in my garage at night with a flash, but it shows them pretty well.

There in very good shape. After reading some of these messages, I thought the seats would look very used after several years. Do you do anything special besides a regular cleaning. I just got a 2008 KR and I now feel a lot better about these seats. I did buy some KR conditioner. I'm just not sure when to start using it.

Hi Bob - There's tons of posts here about care and feeding of Castano leather! Probably the best advice I can give you is to clean the seats first with a, warm, damp cloth (to remove dirt) and then condition them (after they dry) with either KR Conditioner or Leather CPR. Don't really "scrub" the seats during cleaning (if you can avoid it) or you can damage the finish.

The key is not to let them get "discolored" in the first place. You really don't have to treat them more than 2-3 times a year though if you are somewhat careful with them.

I've recently started using a product called Fiebing's Aussie Leather Conditioner. It contains beeswax which seems to waterproof and protect the leather somewhat and it doesn't discolor the leather. I suggest you try any product other than CPR or KR Conditioner on an inconspicuous area to see if you like the results, before going full out!
