32oz Dr Pepper throwed on seats
Hey guys its been a crappy day here. I was on lunch break and coming back to the shop and was exiting off the road and this other lane has a yeild sign well here came this new dodge flying down threw there and wasnt going to yeild to me so i came on over blew the horn at her and got in front of her. Well that pissed her off so she followed me to work and me being me i got out to confront her. well some words were exchanged and first thing i know the bitch threw a cup full of dr pepper in my truck. Now i had all for windows down and she threw it in the left rear wiindow ( drivers side) and it went all over the two rear seats the console the carpet and the back of the passenger front seat. After she did that she took off. Lets just says my 03 can keep up with a hemi ram lol. anyway i called the cops when i was chasing her and they finally pulled her over and gave her a ticket for criminal mischief. It scared the hell out of me when i saw the seats at first cause they were wet from the drink. after all that i took some pictures after it half way dried. I will post some pics on this. It looks worse in person that what the pictures show but here they are

I think you shouldn't have to pay for the damages. I was under the impression that would be destruction of property.
I would try cleaning them the best you can before trying to re-stain the leather. I have heard some nightmare stories about king ranch leather gone bad after a re-stain.
That sucks. Good luck.

What have you heard on the restaining of the seats? I heard about this company on this website colornew i think it was and was under the impression that it came out very good. Im sure i wont have to pay for the damages but i cant look at them seats being like that for another month or so. i am taking her to small claims court im not even messing with municpal court.
Yea that is ture but they need to learn how to drive also without the cell phone shoved in the ear or doing there makeup, Just my opinion though

Now, concerning the topic, you are going to have to use the "spa treatment" to get as much of the soda out of the leather as possible. That will make the seats look and feel like they should again. If you re-stained them now, you would just be staining those pop stains even deeper into the leather. It is going to take some work, but it will get most, if not all, of it out. Then follow-up with some conditioner, and you should be set.

Sue her!! Make sure your statement is in the police report. She should be liable for all of the damage. You could probably get her to pay for all new covers and carpet. This is the same as spray painting graffiti, or keying someone's car. She should pay.
You might want to start by filing a claim with her insurance company. I assume she didn't deny it to the police so you have her confessing to it. Should make the claim go through very quickly.

I think your advice is dead on too. Dr. Pepper is not "oily", but it is sugary and has a dark color. My guess is it's water soluble and will come out pretty easily with the "spa" treatment. Anything on plastic will just "wash off". Try to not rub the leather more than you have to. Rubbing seems to remove the "finish" on the leather and it will never be quite the same again.
I've sort of decided life is too short to get into "p*ssing" contests with other drivers. If they want to cut me off, maybe they are in a hurry to get to an important meeting. If they seem unconscious, I just laugh at them. If they're on their cell phone or applying makeup, I look forward to seeing them at their next crash (and then I will be an aggressive witness).
And, I have to admit, sometimes I've been the one who causes heartburn in everyone else. :o None of us are perfect, are we?

I don't remember exactly. I was just kinda lurking around the King Ranch section. :o I know some people have made theirs too dark, and it doesn't turn out as good as they thought it would and it doesn't match everywhere.
And, if you can get her to pay for replacements, that's good too.
I didn't mean to sound like you were the one at fault - what she did was inexcusable, and she SHOULD pay for the damage.
But, isn't it better on our blood pressure to avoid all this aggravation in the first place?

Why, thank you. I have had my KR for five years now, been a member of this forum for the same amount of time, (even though it says 11/04?). It seems alot of the new folks on here want to "re-invent the wheel" so to speak. It's really not rocket science. There are no shortcuts with this leather. If you take care of it, it will last. There are no quick fixes. What has been tried, and works or not, is in the archives here. Everyone has the same leather, but some do not have the same amount of patience?
