Wow that stinks!

My wifes heart beat stops when she spills just a drop of something in my truck. I don't think she would want to be around if something like this happened to me. I'd definately be sending a bill to her on this one. Good luck with it.

If you guys have ever read one of my posts you know how much I love King Ranch Trucks. Especially the leather, so I know that must have been a devastating blow. But I have spilled plenty of drinks on my seats and it comes out as good as new after a little treatment. Clean them and condition them like you were going to anyway and take the high road.
We all know she's a crazy, careless, vindictive woman. But you spending time, money and going gray isnt worth going to court. She'll get hers and you'll get yours for being the bigger person.
Just my thought.

JESUS RULES

Why is the King Ranch leather so delicate and easily damaged? I guarantee that the cows that the leather came from stood out in the rain all their lives and never got water spots.

That's crazy!

I don't confront anyone... I still say the greatest thing I've ever seen was when some guy in a little Honda ticked off my dad a few years ago by passing him on a snow covered road then brake checking him. Well, he was then wrapped around a telephone poll about a mile down the road. My dad rolled up to him, and the guy couldn't get out of his wreck, and my dad walked up to the car, and said, "In a rush?! Well now you're stuck around a f'n pole, and I hope you learned your lesson, because I'm not gonna help you!!" He then turned around, and off we went... I was like 12 at the time... but I vaguely recall that the guy was slamming on his door and cursing nasty words to my dad...

I even thought it was funny at that age... but if that guy got out, he would've probably messed up my dad.

I still say he deserved it... you don't do that stuff to people, especially when the road conditions are crappy and you've got your son in the truck trying to get him to school safely.

Most of these wrecks around my place are caused by 3 things:

1. Speeding.
2. Cell phones.
3. Horseplay.

But in your case, that's really too bad. I'd make sure there was restitution on your part. That is criminal mischeif and destruction/defacement of private property, punishable under the court of law.

failure to report an accident, is illegal. if the individual would have froze to death, or whatever your father could have been in some trouble.
i think that all states should ban cell phones and require headsets. ya i wouldnt confront anyone these days, you can't trust people, lucky she didn't mace you. people can't drive these days anyway, city people especially don't care. i was down in chicago for a concert, sweet jesus

He's the type of man that if you tick him off, he won't forget it. Old school... Besides, the guy in car probably tried to tell the cop that some dude came up to him and told him off.. and the cop said, "Yeah, yakity smackity, and you were doing some reckless driving, here's your ticket... serves you right..."

He's done some pretty odd stuff... never got in trouble... he's kind of mellowed out now... but I'm really surprised he never went to prison from all the stuff that I witnessed when I was a kid. Including the time he ran over a brand new white Chrysler LeBaron convertable with a women sitting in the passenger seat. The trooper actually laughed at the husband and wife when my father got out and locked the hubs and shifted into 4x4 to get off the top of the LeBaron. I don't think that settled too well with them though... haha I still remember that as a kid.

I wish I still had that F250 my dad had... that thing was a freakin' tank.

Well just a little update on this. I tried 3 diffrent times to get the seats clean and still havent had any luck so i took it to a well know detailer here in town and after working with them all day he wasnt able to do anything at all with them. So after being out $150.00 for the detail i got more pissed and sent her a certified letter to reimburse me the 150.00 for the detail and the estimate from the colornew new guy. She sent me a letter back saying she would remberse me for the 150.00 but that is it. So i went to the court and filed on her plus court costs. Im hoping everything comes threw.

That's crazy... You should impound her car until she reimburses you.

that sucks. KR leather gets stains so easily if you don't take care of them. but what an *** to do that to you. i say if you got the ***** to confront somebody you should.

my friends brother and him a few years back were driving and some dumbass kids were being dumb and cut him off for no reason and kept brake checkin him, my friends brother got in front of them cut them back off stopped them in the middle of a road got out went up to the kids window, thought the window was down and punched the kid thru the window and drove off. im sure that kid learned his lesson.

Take her to court and get you some new seats, that's all to it.

After reading all of the posts in this thread, there sure are some "strange folks" out there and I hope to never run into any of them in my lifetime.
-------------------------------

The small claims route is the best way to get 100% of your repair costs covered, as her actions caused every penny of your expense and (hope to God) the court sees it that way.

But cleaning the leather should not be that much of an issue. A heated steam removal process should get most of the sugar base out but might lighten the area also. Getting them dyed (all so they match) is an expensive way to go - so I would get at least two (2) written quotations that you can present to the court BEFORE you spend the money.

Nail her A** in court then maybe she might think twice before doing anything like that again (but given she is a genetic mistake, maybe not).

You betcha... I think you've hit the nail right on it's head for sure!

Trust me... if you act like the of the weirdos out there on the road... and one of those "strange folks" happens to encounter you... well... either do two things: 1. Haul your butt right on outta there... if you can't then 2. Be nice... Or it will be one of those stories that you will be passing on to others as a not-so-nice story type of thing.
