Oh Joy Oh Rapture......

They are bringing back the Expy for 2008 in KR trim.

This is something that I thought would not happen, and makes me so pleased I didn't buy the EL Limited in March before I came back to the UK.

However looking at the ordering guide, I see there will be a new color......

"Earth Clearcote"

It sounds really wierd, but I would really like to know more about it.
If anyone can find out anything about it, I would be really grateful !!




PS. Actually there is a second new color......"White Suede Clearcoat"

But I guess we can work out roughly what that one will be like !!

 

Where'd you hear they were making a KR Expedition again? I had read that they were not because it did not achieve the same desired sales as the F series trucks as.

I'd love to see a new KR Expedition though!

 

It was probably me that said that because despite various 'connections' I couldn't find out anything earlier in the year.

I suspect the ''Earth'' color will be a light to mid shade of brown.

I can't wait to see the King Ranch trim level on the new Expy.

I was thinking that, too. I'd like to see a bigger gas V8 available for the Super Duties. Chevy offers the 6.0L V8 in 2500HDs, and I'd like to have the diesel, the V10, and for those who don't want those, a bigger V8 other than the 5.4. Maybe bring back the 5.8L....

He already has a KR Expy....

 

As RP says above I already have the 2005 KR Expy.

I like the idea of the EL Expy though, but was disappointed when from
inquiries recently it seemed it would not be presented in KR trim.

Now however we know that it will, hence it is very likely I will be ordering a 2008 4x4 Expedition EL King Ranch.

(Brad....Now with chapparel leather incidentally, plus also the new option of retractable side steps as in the Navigator)

My only decision is in which color, and as 2 are new it is difficult to say yet., hence my request that if anyone over Stateside can let me know when they either see a new color or have access to any brochures etc., please let me know.
There are only 4 options for the KR.
Black (Absolute No No for me)
Copper (A bit garish...or it will be when I bring it back to the UK...sheep on the Welsh Hillsides wont know what to make of it!)
White suede (Maybe)
Earth Clearcoat (This is the most intriguing and I wan't to see it ASAP !)

While a 08' Expy would be nice, I don't see it happening -- not for me at least.

I'm kind of leaning towards the side of wishing that they made a KR Ranger. Yes, I'm thinking of downgrading.

 

I wonder if this will be a 'KR only' color (like Estate Green, Charcoal Blue, Dark Copper, Chestnut Brown, etc)?

I'm thinking that it'll be the color of mud.

Too bad that the guy @ Ford that I picked for information has retired. He would've sent us the color swatch...

Remember when he tipped his cards and said that the KR interior was going to be 'darker and redder' in the coming models?
