Colored Handles...do they fit 2005 KR?

Would love to have them for my white 05. Assuming they fit any idea how much they cost and the difficulty in installing them? Thanks in advance!

I have a set on the countertop at home that came on Monday. I'll let you know how the install goes but, it looks like it'll be ABSOLUTE CAKE!

Just an FYI, hang tight on buying them as I'm cooking up a group buy that may involve them... of course, that's up to you but, it may save a buck or three.

Stay tuned to the KR forum for more information!

Rockpick,

Are they a smooth finish or are they bumpy like the black ones and just painted the same color as your truck?

I do not mind the mirrors, but I really dislike the black door handles and tailgate handle on an otherwise very stylish truck.

I am in too. How much do you think for the handles all the way around?

Thanks for putting together a group buy, as it should help out a bit...

Uhh... Guess what? I totally misunderstood.

I was thinking INTERIOR GRAB HANDLES. In short, the leather wraps... sorry guys.

As for the exterior... Ford makes the PAINT TO MATCH door handle now and it *IS* available. It's smooth. Search the 04+ forum for part numbers... they've been posted oodles of times.

Had no luck finding in 04 parts section...

...anyone here work for Ford or at a dealership and know or can look up the cost of new color specific door handles for 05 KR's. I dont have a problem painting my living room or my kids bike but am not real comfortable with painting my KR handles...on or off of my truck.

Help please?!?! Thanks!

You would think that a KR would HAVE better than the OEM black crap.
Awaiting your installation saga.

Over the past couple of years, there have been several write ups on the change out. Do a search.

The LT handles are DIFFERENT than the Paint To Match handles from Ford in that they have the chrome handle...

In my opinion, the chrome handle looks pretty good with a monotone paint scheme but, when you tie in Arizona Beige trim, chrome doesn't really look all that swift...

That's just an opinion though...

The PTM part numbers are in the thread posted three posts prior to this one.

I have the instructions on how to remove and replace the handle assemblys. I scanned them into my cpu but I don't know how to insert them. I think a setting needs changed or something. Anyway if you need it and can't find it I can fax it to you. Just let me know.

RP, sorry for the unclear description... the INSTALLATION of both sets of handles (LT & 07 PTM) is the same.
