I've been thinking meself

The Virginia DMV actually has a pretty cool website where you can go and select a plate (they have a couple hundred different plates) and then you can enter what message you want on the plate, and it will show you what your customized plate would look like. It also tells you whether that particular number/letter combo has already been taken, and if not, you can reserve it online.

Anyhow, I have been thinking about getting a custom plate ever since I got the KR, but I haven't taken the time to actually get one.

When I first got the truck, it was a serious step up from the `94 Ranger I had been driving - the size difference was pretty impressive, so much so that my wife was calling the KR the "big black beast" - so I was for a while thinking of "BEAST" or some variant.

Ha - I just checked while writing this and BEAST is already taken.

Pretty much every combo I thought of was already taken - I guess I'm not all that original...

I tried "KNG RCH" and that was taken.

I wish Texas had that kind of website, we still have to call the special plates hotline.

I am not creative either...so anyone else with ideas?

I don't know why some of you wouldn't just try your handle from this forum, a lot of you have pretty cool login names and most of 'em are short enough for a license plate. Black05KR would have to be shortened to BLK05KR of course, but TXCOBRA is seven letters. After all, you thought it was good enough for us to know you by, why not the rest of the world?

That's what I did. My KRF handle is my initials and my wife's / her car has her initials and then mine (CMA CJW3). Simple but personal.

I agree with you, but I must admit that I have already used it on my cobra. I just keep using this handle because it makes it easier to remember on all the boards I like to post on (thats what I get for creating a car specific handle). It doesn't really fit my truck, so I am trying to find something unique for it.

Mine is C-BOYUP (in case someone has questions..C-BOYUP=Cowboy Up!)but I have had that tag for years!. The same tag has been on 3 trucks, everytime I sell a vehicle they get the original tag and my personalized tag goes with me.

Really? I didn't know you could do that I thought the tag was assigned to the vehicle unless you got another vanity plate...that's cool and good to know!

Black05KR -

I used the Virginia DMV website when I first decided to get personalized plates for my 02 KR. It actually took quite a while because every variation of "King Ranch" I could think of was already taken. Once I settled on "F-150 KR" and found out they were available, I snatched them up because I didn't want to lose them to someone else with the same idea. As you can tell, we all have similar ideas when it comes to the "King Ranch" name. So once you decide on something, don't take too long to order it.
