Detailed King Ranch Specs?
I'm looking for more detailed specs on the 2005 F-150 KR 4WD, but cannot find them:

Wheel width -- Ford's great at giving diameter, but what about width?!
Axles, front and rear. Dana 60? Ford 9"?
Transmission. AOD? Something else?
Transfer case.
It always irritates me that it's so difficult to find out the specs on a truck. I understand that most people don't care, but the manufacturers could at least bury this more detailed info on their websites somewhere.
Is there some resource that gives these more in-depth details?
Thanks for your help.

Don't worry too much about it. I won't die without this info ... just found it very odd that at least someone didn't have this info off the top of their head. If you have to look it up at home, don't worry about it -- not that important.
I'm not a gear-head by any stretch of the imagination, but I know that my stock wheels were 15x7, my transmission is an electronic shift version of the A4LD (4R55E, I think), the front axle is a Dana 35, the rear is a Ford 8.8", and I think the transfer case is a Borg-Warner, though I forget.

Since the KR only comes with the 5.4 (I believe), the rear axle will be the 9.75. Ford uses the 8.8 rear with the 4.6 and 4.2 motors. If you have 4wd then the front axle will be the 8.8.
I think they have upgraded the transmission, the older body style had the 4r70w but I think they are using a 4r75w in the new trucks. The AOD hasn't been used in years.
I have no clue about the wheel size although it should be listed on the window sticker.

Specifications for a 4WD truck SHOULD include exactly what you are requesting information on. But sadly most truck buyers are not "gearheads"; as long as it has the "bling" factor many consumers are happy just to show the label.
Would be interested in the correct data once you've obtained it.
