Unhappy OH NO!!! What do I do?

I'm Freaking out here guys. About 4 hours ago, I picked up my friend who was wearing a leather jacket. It was slightly misting out so I guess the jacket was a little damp. Anyways, I just went out to my truck and to my terror, noticed a huge dark print of his jacket on the seat back. I thought it could just be wet, but it's not. What happened and how do I fix it?!!!?!!!?!!!?

Let it dry and condition it. I've done the same thing, and it looks fine now.

Well Guys, it looks as though my seat is ruined. I've tried 3 different leather cleaners and johnsons baby wash, and it did not effect the stain at all. The only thing I can figure is that the jacket was dyed, not tanned, and it just transfered over , leaving an exact print of the jacket on my seat. It looks so horrible. If anyone has , or knows where I can get a new passenger side seat back, please let me know. Thanks.

I've seen two or three seat covers on ebay in the recent past. Might try there...

If not, try www.fordpartsnetwork.com . Tell Torrie that RockPick sent you.

Next time it's misting out, have him sit in all the other seats, and then they will all match and no one will notice.

Just kidding.....sorry to hear about the stain

I tell you what, I'm p.o'd right now about the same thing. Its finally nice enough in this humid hell I live in to open the windows. Yesterday I'm cruising with the windows down and apparently my upper back/sholder got a bit warm and moist. To my shagrin, I got out of my truck and noticed about a 1' x 1' stain on the back of my seat! It was still there this morning, it didn't dry or anything? What gives? Do I need to clean and condition it right away or can I wait until the weekend when I'll actually have some time to spend on it?

I tell, I love my new truck like nothing other, especially the beautiful seats but the care is frightening at times.

It's either a labor of love or hate with our seats. I see that you're coming to realize this...

My hunch is that you can wait until the weekend but, it probably wouldn't hurt to try to clean them now. My first line of defense would be to use a warm wet terry cloth and work that area (this will help open up the porosity of the leather). Follow up with your choice of leather cleaners and then condition once or twice.

I think you'll note that this will take care of your problem. Good luck.

Yep, RP, it really is going to be a labor of love. I'll be damned if I didn't look closer today and I think there is a small crack beginning to form in the center of this stained spot. I wonder if that can be cured via the techniques above? I'm wondering if the starch in my shirts had anything to do with this. I wear dress shirts that are dry cleaned with light starch. I'm starting to wonder if I should just put a seat cover over the driver's seat

Anybody have info on warranty coverage for cracks in the leather?

Esquire- Sorry to hear you have the same problem. As far as I know, warranty does not cover stains, cracks, ect. in the leather. I have tried to argue that point with the dealership a couple of times already. I am happy to report however that with conditioning every few days, the stain seems to be fading. Perhaps in time it will be unoticable.

Crack is a very subjective term thus, I'm wondering exactly what you're referring to....
