i just wanted to liven up the thread, and i've accomplished what i set out to do

sorry its running, not rolling!! its a logo that is physically fit and not one that is emphatically rotund and glutenous.

i guess i'm just impatient...we will hopefully hear something positive soon from them.

No replies as of yet...

I'm going to call on Monday during normal business hours to attempt to obtain some type of 'feel' on how this might go.

At this point, I'm loosing faith. Two of us have now contacted KR via email and neither have recieved responses, this thread has, seemingly, come to a skreeching halt as no one is posting here with the exception of KRSC, Lenny, and myself..., and I've asked numerous times for suggestions, general opinions, funny jokes, dirty jokes, and responses however no one seems to follow through despite over one thousand hits on this thread.

Like Lenny said earlier in the thread, I really hate to expend a vast amount of energy for something that is already doomed. This project has gone just like past projects have gone with this group to date.

Daveman attmpted to pull a trip to KR off and numerous people expressed interest... however, when the time came, only TWO PEOPLE made the trip and they met up with one more while they were there.

Myself and others first tried to pull a 'T-SHIRT' thing together. Response was very promising and then it just drifted off onto the bottom of the forum... Damon attempted the same thing with the same results...

As Daveman expressed long ago, it's very upsetting to invest copius amounts of time into attempting to pull something together when the support isn't there... the interest seemingly is there but, very little follow-through.

Where the heck is everyone???

Anyone want to add anything?? Put forth your opinions, thoughts, ideas??

RP, Lenny, and I seem to be the only ones actively involved in wanting to get this thing goin.

Anyone???

Okay... I feel I need to respond to that Mike.

Your point has been taken however; I haven't taken it very well. In fact, I'm trying to focus here so that I say exactly what I feel like I need to say. Anyone who knows me and knows my passion for a cause would expect nothing less than for me to stride my way atop a soap box and speak... here goes...

First and foremost, I, as well as many others, don't think this is another 'RA RA' effort to pull something together. You're right, a trip to KR was quite a stretch for most of us to pull off however, numerous folks expressed a true desire to be able to be a part of it. Myself included. Like you said, it just wasn't practical. Hence, the idea has since fizzled with only an occasional overtone of an idea to possibly pull something together in Kingsville.

Second, I don't appreciate the 'elitist overtone' comment. No one here is a so-called 'elitist'. Some participate more than others and some are genuinely interested in forming and organizing something of this nature. Don't whang someone for wanting to enjoy their hobby. Maybe it's not yours and that's fine but, I don't feel that name calling or the direct implication that some feel that they are better than someone else was necessary. It was totally uncalled for! I cannot stress that enough... TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR!!!! Seriously, do you think that's how we feel? That's the farthest thing from anyone's mind here and frankly it makes me mad that you could make a conditional relation with such a thing. We're simply putting something in the limelight that we feel is extraordinarily special as KR owners.

In the exact same context, the HD guys have a whole separate website separate from f150online or FTW where they have their organization. Simply put, I envisioned something similar with direct ties to f150online. Nothing more... nothing less.

Forgive me for not proposing a 'mission statement' or 'purpose' for our organization. I simply felt that our love for our trucks and the 'family like' atmosphere that we have within the walls of our forum would be adequate. Maybe I'm wrong... maybe I'm right. There's only one damn way to find out and I'm trying to explore that path.

I, too, miss the verbalized babble and discourse that many used to have on this forum. You mentioned some screen names that I haven't seen in quite some time. However, if you'll scroll through this thread, you'll also see some familiar faces that have peeked up and out of the cracks. ACbell, Liny... just to name a couple. They have expressed interest and obviously see some sort of value to having a club of this sorts. I have a feeling that if this thing floats, we'll see more of them on the surface having donned a life vest with true interest to be a part of this.

I suspect that many of the names that you have mentioned are roaming about. They still come to the boards only to find the 'KR family' atmosphere to be one that they are simply not interested or curious in. That's fine. Maybe that's a flaw that we have in our fourm but, that's each person's cup of tea. We certainly have our fair discussion from a technical standpoint here. However it is true that we rarely miss an opportunity to 'poke' at one another. That relates back to the atmosphere that we've always had here. Always.

You will be hard pressed to find A SINGLE THREAD in the KR forum that doesn't have some of your so-called 'gibberish'. That's the atmosphere that we've always had here. Every single person here has tossed some 'gibberish' around. Humor is one of the things that makes this world go 'round. We're always going to have our fair share of it here because we feel comfortable with the majority of the folks that frequent.

If you don't have the passion to follow and support something of this nature, that's fine. Don't bash or hinder the potential future for something that a lot of us would like to see come to light. I'm not going to step back from this as you have suggested. I'm going to continue to stride forward and attempt to get some backing from KR in Kingsville on this. I'm not a quitter. I'm going to continue to have humorous overtones and every thread on this forum will have its touch of someone's humor. It's our nature. Nothing is going to change.

There's no rain on this parade...

We'll continue to paddle upstream with one oar and see where it takes us... it's up to those that have expressed interest to see if they can help to find an additional oar so that we can achieve our goal as a club. I know there's another oar available...

RP

Wow, what a thread, this should keep you guys busy for a little while…HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!!!

First and foremost, I hope this idea of a King Ranch Society comes to fruition as it's very similar to what I was trying to do some time back in a round about way. I’m in with the plan but I don’t have a lot of time to participate in a responsible position as I’m building a garage and then a house which will span approximately 4 years. However, I will definitely be a devoted member when the club is formed. I think the notion of this club is useful and could be another way to reinforce and enhance the relations among the KR enthusiasts via personal investment of time and a small dues payment for commitment. In other words, commitment requires buy-in, buy-in requires involvement and decision making empowerment and hence ownership follows.

I'll try and comment on each of the members that I know individually:

Rock Pick:
Great idea, you are a real trooper with tons of tenacity and I know this group or club will happen eventually no matter who is elected President or whatever. Your consistent mention of a sound plan and a "floatable boat" is, in my opinion, technically appropriate and good advice. I think you were a little soft on your epic rebuttal to Mike’s comments of which he has now deleted. I guess you were trying to make your point but in a respectable and diplomatic manner to keep the peace. BTW, my family and I will be driving to Chicago in late October to attend a wedding in early November so I will gladly meet with you and other willing KR owners in Kentucky or in the region at that time. I guess you’re getting really excited about your new home plans coming to life, hey?

Lenny:
You speak the truth and are a wise and honest leader; I nominate you as President of whatever club is formed as well as our official spokesman no matter your age. Your membership dues are a bit outlandish though, if you reduce them by approximately 99% then I can send you the money via your multi-digit account number listed earlier. How are things going with you and family? Did you really order a 2004 truck?

King RanchSC02:
Great looking logo, you are an artist and you did an excellent job creating it. Maybe an altered or group specific logo similar to the running “W” can be created by us without infringing on the King Ranch official logo. Be patient dude, there is plenty of time. Trust me as time is on your side for now. Keep up the good work and the internet site isn't a bad idea but for the amount of work you'll have to contribute to keep it maintained, it may not payoff until some time later. BTW, did you get a new screen name from KRSC02 or have you just not posted very much or maybe I’m loosing it?

MikeF150:
Long time no talk to...There are two terms that you've mentioned in this forum, one was "clique" and the other was "elitist" and since no other KR forum members use these terms that I’m aware of, I'm starting to wonder who really falls into those categories? I appreciate your candor but at the time when the KR trip was a hot topic, there were more than 10 folks that willingly indicated they'd make the trip to Kingsville by driving their trucks. After all, if the trucks we love so much were originally derived from the King Ranch, then why not meet in the place where the idea was born? The reason I didn't drive to the KR was due to the lack of follow through from other interested members of which most backed out when it was time to actually decide. Talk is cheap...you have a track record of telling people just what you feel like and then when it’s not well received, deleting it. IMHO, maybe you need to think a little more before you post what’s on your mind or post in a word processor first and then read it later before you paste it into a reply and make sure that’s what you really want others to hear and feel.

Sarman:
Wow, it’s been a very long time since we spoke, how’s Iceland treating you and the family?

Skagel:
You’re as silly as ever girl… I hereby nominate you as the Master at Arms of the KR Society since you’ve got a weapons stash comparable only to the US Army or Marines as well as being a pretty damn good shot too. Feel free to exclude any non-paying or non-conforming unauthorized members or if a situation gets out of hand. Take full control of order from ciaos and make us proud, but don’t shoot any card carrying members please without a fair trial first. Whazzzupppp???

Damoncaravanman:
I can’t really comment much as I don’t know you and have only read post and don’t think we have ever shared a dialogue on this KR forum. I’m under the impression that you are a very hard worker and have earned most everything you have the hard way, by working for it. Maybe one day we will carry on a debate or conversation about our trucks or some similar topic. You are a true enthusiast as far as I can tell from reading your posts.

BroncoDave:
Long time since we talked, you’re competing with Logical on your skills at brevity. How’s the Mountainous West these days?

LINYScrew:
Sorry I missed you on your latest trip down to this area. I would have gladly met you around Walterboro, SC on I-95 as it’s only about 45mins drive for me but I didn’t hear from you until your trip was completed. Keep in touch when you can, later.

ReelWork:
You need to sell your FX4 and buy a KR, that’s where your heart seems to be IMHO. I guess it’s been very busy these days at your regular job, hey? I Support our Troops and of course the infrastructure behind them!!! I nominate you as the official treasurer as you are as tight as a tick on a hound dog’s **** and would keep our monies in order with ease. Of course, you’d need to follow the first sentence first or it wouldn’t be appropriate and Skagel would have to enforce the laws of the Society. Just kidding…Later.

Logical:
Where the hell are you man? You are the real father of the King Ranch movement IMO and are the most brief and concise and politically correct KR forum member I’ve come to know. I know you find yourself in sticky situations at time from your candor but you rarely change your words to suite others and usually maintain your original stance or position and are usually correct anyway. I have always looked up to you as the original founder of the KR forum movement. Keep in touch via any medium that’s easy for you as well as continuing to contribute to the KR forum and club when it’s formed. Later…

Everyone else:
Keep up the support, this forum has some real quality participants with high moral and ethical values from most of its members.

Later,

~DM~
