Leadership/Organization/Ideas

Okay guys... from the sounds of it, we have a logo...

We need a path for the club. I'm definately looking to you all for the tools to help make this path clear and defined.

From this point, it sounds as though we might need to switch gears and figure out how we're going to progress with this club.

I've got a few ideas in that we make it a minimal membership dues club. The profits from the dues can either be used to fund an annual even (cook out etc) or we can pick a charity and benefit it.

I've been talking with other clubs (gun club specificall) that has it's own 'non-profit' status and I think that this might be the way for us to go.

If anyone is more familar with the non-profit laws and such, please let me know...

I don't think anyone here wants to 'profit' from this club (including me) thus, I think that any penny we have in the club should be used specifically for club events/items and any left over should be donated to a charity of our choosing.

Another next step. Leadership. I believe that we need to come up with, at least, senior leadership for the club. IE: A president, vice president, and treasurer.

I don't know who all you want to take these positions but, I would be willing to volunteer my time and efforts to this cause in a senior leadership role.

I also would be willing to volunteer my time and efforts to this cause in a junior leadership role.

Has the thought been brought up of regional or "Chapter Clubs" being spun off of something like this? I was wondering only because if this did get its feet off the ground maybe I could start a Chapter, with the permission of the pres. (whoever you guys and gals decide it to be) in Iceland. It may be a small chapter of me as the pres, vice pres, treasurer, etc, etc, etc. but atleast I could support this from that country.

Sarman,

Odd how the world ties together...

Would you mind contacting your brother in law on behalf of our 'potential' club and seeing if you can get a straight answer on the KR logo and copyright laws in general?

My understanding is that if the logo/copywritten material is changed by as little as 20% that it's considered original.

I agree with everyone in that we need to go with the collared 'polo' style shirts. I think that would look excellent but, we still need to make sure that we're not looking at lawsuits or similar if we go out on our own. I'm sure you all understand the legality of a simple shirt.

As far as 'chapters' are concerned. f150online.com hasn't really embraced the 'chapter' concept as FTW has. I think this is one thing that FTW has over f150online but, we have to look at this in the big picture of things in that f150online has offered us a forum to talk about our KR trucks and relate with other KR owners. I think of this group as much more of a 'chapter' per say than I do of the Kentucky Chapter on the other site. I know you all much better than I know anyone on FTW. This is what makes f150online special. My loyalty is here and I think that we need to focus our energy here to promoting this site and making this the home of the KR club. The KR forum should be our home.

I'm certainly open to more discussion on how we should proceed with this as I think it's vital to the success of this club. Like many others, I want to see this succeed and for us to grow and extend out to other fanatics but, we need to make sure that we take care of the details before we push off from shore.

Keep the ideas coming... please.

RP
