Hello from NY

A short backstory... On thanksgiving day, on a very icy road, I slid sideways into a ditch hitting the edge of a sluice pipe. My '05 Sport Trac was totaled. (thankfully my 5 yr old, wife and I are all ok). I wanted another ST but couldn't find any decent ones in my area. So I started looking at F-150's and am now a proud owner of a 2006 FX4 Supercrew. Love it so far!
I grew up a Ford guy. My dad always had F-150's. My previous Fords have been an '89 F-150, '90 Mustang LX, '02 Mustang GT, '05 Sport Trac (RIP).
Glad I found this site, seems to be a very good one!

Cheers,
Jason

I just may do that when the time comes, thanks for the offer!
My truck sounds pretty decent when I get on the throttle, I'm thinking it may already have a non-stock catback or at least a different muffler. I can't tell just by looking at it.

If you can hear your exhaust at all then it must be aftermarket. Factory exhausts on our models have 30" long body mufflers 9"s thick full 2.5" tubing. Break out the tape measurer!

Definitely an aftermarket. If you want to pin-point what kind it is a photo will help. Magnaflow makes 14" mufflers, Borla's single in/out ProXS is available in 14" case, but not the dual outlet version. Magnaflow and Borla usually have the name embossed on the side of the case too.

Here is a good visual for ya, this guy used an 18" body Magnaflow.

That link looks to be similar to what the previous owner did as there is newer piping on either side of the muffler. I looked for a name embossed but didn't see one (didn't get right under the truck though). It's a single output, tailpipe/tip seems to be stock/oem. They also emboss their name on their tips too, my GT had a Borla Stinger catback on it (holy crap LOVED it!!) and the tips were embossed. Mine has nothing on it except dirt and a little suface rust haha. Regardless, I'm happy with the sound it currently has.... for now

Ah man, wish you still had that! Would love to hear a Stinger kit in person again. What an awesome sound. Was it manual? If so how did the clutch feel? I wanted to get a GT for a DD last summer, sound the clutch to be rather stiff though. Dealer didn't know if it was upgraded or not so naturally I thought the master was on its way out.

If you ever wanna change it, have a listen to mine and i'll bet you'll change it .

It sure was manual. 5sp. It also had Eibach lowering springs. I'll post some pics in my Garage soon. Believe me man I miss the heck out of that car. Really wanted a truck but could not afford a 3rd vehicle. Traded it in for my Sport Trac (loved that too), hardest decision I think I've ever had to make haha.

Don't tempt me
