Dave,

Congrats on the new truck, I take it it's the new model and not the heritage model.
Can you tell something about the ride quality.
I testdrove 2 of the new models, a crew and a supercab both 4x4 and I found the ride quite bumpy in both trucks.
You could feel every bump in the road.
Is yours a 4x4?

F150
My previous vehicle was a Range Rover and this F-150 is smoother and quieter than that and yes it is 4x4
the off road ability I believe will not be as good as the Range Rover but towing is better

Dave

I think the question is - does the front of your truck look like this (2004 model F150)?

http://www.ford.com/en/vehicles/vehi...s/fordF150.htm

or like this (previous model F150)?

Thumbs up

Thanks Mike,

Yeah Dave, you didn't tell us that.
Is it the new model 2004 or the old model still available in 2004, called the heritage model.

If it's the new model could you also tell me/us what fuel mileage you are getting.

TIA

I took a new FX4 for a test drive a few weeks ago. Very nice interior. I wondered whether anyone has imported an '04 model into Europe yet

Hi All
I have 2004 F150 Lariat supercrew
I now have 3500 miles on the clock, mpg is about 13-15
but bear in mind that the tank gauge is set for US Gallons(i think)
so if thats right than add 20% to the MPG figure
Top speed is 106MPH @ 4,000 RPM (it has a limiter on the revs )
let me if you boys want any more info
best regards

Question

The 5.4 engine, is it smooth on idle.
Sitting in the cab, can you feel the engine running.
Are you filling up with 95 or 98.

I already ask you this but this is very important to me.
When you go over bumps in the road, I experienced a very bumpy ride.
Almost every small bump in the road, can be felt.
What's opinion about that.
Did you experience something similar or do you find the ride very smooth.

TIA

Dave, congrats. The 04 is a nice truck. I thought the sides of the bed were a bit high for actually throwing stuff into, but then again I very rarely haul stuff...

I'm looking forward to a 2005 SVT Lightning version of the new F150, hope the $ exchange rate is still favo(u)rable a year from now...

Mike
I am looking at the Euro's exchange rate every day now, for some time.
Man, that thing is going up and down like a yoyo.
Highest I have seen is $1.29 but it is down a bit now at 1.24.
Experts say it will go up to $1.35.
Well, I don't know about that. I doubt it.
Will it still be that high in 2005.
Let's hope so for you Mike but I have my doubts.
It's bad for our economy of course but it sure is nice to get things from The States "cheap".
