European response to the 2004 F-150

Anybody out there??

Just curious as to the response of those in Europe. Since vehicles over there are so different style wise, what is the response to the 2004?

Well, since we have really no back up at all from Ford USA, the new model hasn't been officially introduced.
At most "dealers" you cannot get a truck with 3 years factory warranty, 1 year of warranty but not a factory warranty.
And that sucks big time.
Hell most officially European Ford dealers don't even know what a F-150 is.
I am sure trucks will find their way to the customers.
The truck scene here is quite different from the USA of course, gasguzzlers like that are not that popular with gas close to $6 a gallon.
Trucks are usually bought by companies due to tax regulations.
They are too expensive for the common men on the street.
Over 20% of import taxes and 19% sales tax, that sucks.

Price range of the new 2004 models is around $45,000-$55,000.
If you add a propane system to your truck, add around $4100 to that amount.

Personally I like the new model, interior as well the exterior.
Testdrove two of them, a supercab Lariat 4x4 and a supercrew Lariat 4x4.
I was very disappointed about the ride quality, way to bumpy for me, a very annoying feeling. Every bump in the road, you could feel and I wasn't the only one feeling that.
I know, the ride is described as very smooth in the 2004 forum.
Some people are experiencing the same feeling as I had.
Maybe it depends what you expect from a truck, I don't know.
Maybe I testdrove 2 trucks who had problems or something.
What I do know is, I would never buy the new model if every truck has the same ride qualities as I experienced.
I don't like it how it is behaving.
Hopefully the reg cabs 2-wd, because that is what I would buy, have better ride qualities.
Problem is, most trucks are 4x4 supercab/crews if not all.
Hardly ever 2-wd's show up here, so it's a bit of a problem to testdrive one.
Maybe the 2005 models got all the problems fixed.

If other truck owners could tune in here, I would appreciate it.
Let me know your experiences with the new model.

Interesting about the ride discomfort. I wonder what is different?!

$6.00/gallon for gas?!?! And people here bitch about $2.00/gallon.

The Netherlands is a cool place. I have been there twice for Carnival and a third time on a spur of the moment trip. Partied my ***** off and almost fell off of a windmill. My buddy fell into one of the canals (actually jumped) and the police got all pissed off. The Red Light District on any given night beats New Orleans Mardi Gras hands down everyime.

Think anyone else will respond here?

Have a beer on me and enjoy the "coffee shops".

Trucks are the same.
Seems like the same problems as reported in the 2004 forum.
Bumpy/shaky and that's too bad.

I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it on the lot at Vogelwegh. (Kaiserslautern Germany) Almost got rid of my '97, but decided against it since my truck has been paid off for over a year. Don't need another payment on top of the Vette.

How much do they go for in Germany, a 2004 model?
