Center console ?
Center console ?
Hey,
Kinda a stupid question but it bothers me so damn much. I got a 2002 XLT with center flip down console. It has a small holder for loose change, the problem is when there is some change in there every time I hit alittle bump it all rattles. I know this is a small problem, but was just wondering if anyone has had this problem and what they did to fix it. I know the easy answer is don't put it in there, I know that but I don't like carrying it in my pockets either.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

LARM1,
I was thinking of that too, also my wife said something about some felt, line that little change box with it and it should quiet it. I'm going to think of something, it bothers me to much.
Thanks............

I've used rubber matting in a few of my vehicles. There are a number of products designed for lining toolboxes, drawers and the like. The stuff cuts easy, has a non-skid surface, comes in a couple of colors and surface fininshes etc. What I like most about it is that will "stay put" by itself, but you can remove it for cleaning. In the places I wanted to stick it down I've used velcro, contact cement, and double sided tape depending on the kind of hold I wanted.
I don't know about you guys. But in my console lid, there is some foam that when closed will keep still any change. Since that is there I never hear any change rattle. Doesn't everyone's have this?

Mine came with a little foam block that looks like it would hold the coins in place. I don't exactly care for the layout of that flipdown console. My solution for the loose change was a coin holder I picked up at Pep Boys. Cost about $3.00. Came with a little velcro, which I used to attach it to the inside corner of the console. Much better! I can see the indentations for cassette boxes, but how do I deal with CD jewel boxes????
BTW... If you want felt, you can buy it at a craft store. I picked up a yard to cover a darts backboard I built. Not too expensive and comes in lots of colors.
