Question Floor mats?

Well, when I bought my 98 scab, it came with no mats. The carpet's in perfect shape, so I ran out to wallymart and bought Ford logo general mats. With all the rubber on the carpet on the driver's side, the rubber on vinyl mat slides right out, under the seat, under the dash, whereever. Double-sided tape doesn't want to stick either. Does anyone have a source for good custom mats? I'd love a Ford or F150 logo, and Husky's are right out, as this isn't a 4x4...what does everyone have?

I have heavy rubber mats I picked up at an auto parts store. My '99 came with mats and the rubber mats are over these. What you mentioned with the mats sliding around was actually a Safety Issue several years ago. Sudden acceleration caused by the mat sliding into the gas pedal. In '99 a hook was placed in the floor on the driver's side that lined up with a 'hole' in the factory mat to hold it in place. Don't know if this was true in '98 or if it is in practice today.

Just wanted you to be aware of a possibly dangerous problem.

Nifty Catch-All floor mats
They are expensive, very good floor mats. I bought mine from BASS PRO SHOPS. JCWhitney also has them.

Why does it have to be a 4x4 to have Huskys? I'm sure they would overlook the fact that you are 2wd!

I just bought some rubber ones that say "BUILT FORD TOUGH" on them and the drivers side has a locking piece in it and the mats come with a special screw you can install into the carpet to stop it sliding around. Mine dont seem to slide around at all (maybe due to the floor is already vinylized rubber). They are pretty good mats for only 25 bucks.

As far as huskys go I just looked at some at Bass pro shops and I didnt see anything that said you can't use them unless you have 4 wheel drive. However they do mention to specify if you have it or not. I'm pretty sure this is to make sure there floor mats do not get in the way of your 4x4 shift case.

Just check a site...

I looked over at www.performanceproducts.com ( not says you should buy them there mind you, just did this for a product avail, not pricing... )

Did a search on your 98 SCAB, and the Husky liners and rubber floor liners are available for your truck.

Don't know if it is a case of you don't like them or could not find them.

Also shown are :
Catch-Alls
Weatherboots
statesman

Also is the wweathertech, I can think of a local place here that carries their stuff. Matts.com is the URL it is MacNiel Auto.

Just FYI....

I used to like the Catch-Alls, but i didn't like the areas that covered high up the hump and the 2 inch step-over piece. sorry if that doesn't make sense but you'd have to see a pair to know what i mean. So now i have the cheapo Ford ones - and i like them a lot. Floormats are floormats - they get dirty, they slide around, they don't match, they don't fit perfectly, etc.

so, i say it's time for the car companies to start designing the floor areas in new cars. make it look nice, reinforce the areas where people really put their feet, make it easy to clean, and so on.

ok, i'm done.

AIRBAG, you seem like a reasonable person to me.

What are you doing on this site?

This is where I bought them

I just bought a new set of floor mats for my truck. I bought the front set and the full length rear. I just got them in today and they look really good. The one thing that the Fords could improve on is nicer carpet and floor mats in the truck. I wish that the carpet in the F-150 was as nice as the carpet in my friends Tahoe.
