Joey,
The ad is a little misleading.
I think the advertisement refers to replacing the filter unit, not the installation of the entire cabin filtration system. The $50 price for a replacement filter is pretty high. If you already have the system, you can purchase a replacement filter at your Ford dealer's parts dept. for around $20-25.
$50 for a complete installation would be a good deal. Let me know if I am wrong.

That promotion sounds like it's for replacing the filter on vehicles that it is already installed on.
The cabin air filters are not standard on F-150's. The kit to install one cost me $71 a year ago and I installed it myself. If you can get the kit *and* get installed for $50 then jump on that deal!

Intel486,
Just go to your freindly neighborhood Ford dealer and have the parts department order one.
The part number is F65Z-8D477-AA.
The kit will work on '97 and up F-150's. Installation requires cutting out a section of the air box below the glove compartment, installing the mounting frame, installing the filter and the cover. The whole job probably took me a couple of hours and the biggest problem was getting my oversized body in a position to get under the dash.
I believe the search function is working again so search "cabin air filter" and you should be able to find a thread where the instructions were posted.

When I went to my local Ford dealer he said that the air filtration kit has been discontinued. Has anyone else heard that also? Maybe I should try another dealer. Thanks.

Try www.fordpartsonline.com and see if they have them. I bought my kit a year ago but just bought a replacement filter element last week with no problem.
I have to say it was the best money I have spent so far.
ANYONE that drives on gravel roads or dusty trails has to get one put in. It has all but eliminated the dust. Makes the cleaning of the interior a breeze.
