lariat seats

How stupid do I feel, but I have to ask anyways. I've got a 2002 F150 Lariat (supercab, 4x4), and I assume the seat covers (including the rear bench) are entirely leather......but a little voice keeps telling me that a while back, only the seating "surfaces" were leather in the front, and the rear bench may have been vinyl at one time. Folks here seem to like the Lexol products for leather care, and I'd like to make sure it's leather that I'm working on. I know, I should be able to tell the difference...forgive me

Cheers

Thumbs up

Easy way to tell, try the lexol on a small portion of the matierial in question. If it stays wet, it's most likely vinyl. If it soaks in, it's leather. Most manufacturers only use leather on the part you sit on. I'm not certain about the rear seats, though. Don't feel too bad, the line between real and fake leather is getting blurry. Vinyl is getting closer to looking and feeling like leather every year.,,,,98

Thanks much for the tip. My wife's betting the rear bench is leather.....guess we'll see.

My '98 had vinyl on the back seat and behind the fronts. I used Lexol on the leather portion, worked great.

I have a 97 Lariat. Only the seating surfaces are leather. The other parts of the seat and the entire back seat are vinyl.
