Hey - I'm looking to swap out my fold-down center console with a standard center console in my '07 XLT. I'm noticed a thread on this in regards to a '10 but was just wondering if anyone has done this on a 04-08. Is it a straight forward swap? Does the standard console come with a power jack? Currently my fold-down has one in the rear above the cup holders.

Should have the power jack in it. I did the same swap in my 2008 XLT. Very straightforward install. Removed bolts and jump seat, reuse same bolts for console.

 

PYLDA - thanks! did you buy your console new or find a used one?

 

If its one of the standard Ford consoles, it will have a power jack in the back.

 

will a console from a 2011 fit an 05 ?

 

I believe it will. My dad's 2011 has a console about the same size of an 05's.

 

Seller on ebay has a load of them,i got one off him and it was 99% perfect .
Let me know if you want the sellers name.

 

I would also love to know if the newer 10-12 consoles would fit in an 08. Anybody tried it?

x2 I'd like to know if anyone has tried this themselves as the 09+ consoles are cheaper than the 04-08s. I although I do recall reading somewhere there is a difference in how they mount.

I found mine on Amazon for $150 had to wait awhile to find it but non the less I found it. Super easy to install, I used my little 12v impact to make it easier/faster to get those torxs screws out.
