Don't ruin those panels by doing what you're describing. Find some off of a XLT and use those. That way you still have your wood grain in the event you get rid of the truck and you haven't wasted them.

They are removable, but not simply, they are riveted in by plastic. Shouldn't be difficult to break through but will still take some time. May consider trying for a camo dash & door trim kit instead.

They are heat staked on so I'm not sure how you would reattach them after they were removed. I painted the carbon looking pieces in my FX4 and they've held up well. Mask the rest of the door panel, scuff them with 600 grit, use an adhesion promoter, and paint.

This is excatly what I am hoping to do to my truck. I also have a 2005 Screw with the woodgrain. The other question I have is about the center trim. My truck has the electronic heater/ac controls because I have the steering wheel controls. Is there any out there that are not the woodgrain? I have looked around and all I seem to find is the trim kits but they all seem to be for the manual heater/ac controls.
