Anybody done it yet to a FX4. I have an 08 FX4 and hate seeing the chrome on the interior. Door handles, shifter, ac vent rings, radio *****, and the fan and temp buttons. Any ideas or pictures?

 

x2 been wanting to get rid of the chrome a/c vent rings in the other truck we have. anyone know how to remove them?

 

I've been debating it... as for the vents, mine just pull out.

 

Why not remove all the chrome pieces and then paint the chrome?

 

I don't really think it's "chrome" per say. Chrome look, but I seriously doubt it's chrome plating that's attached to the plastic itself. Scuff n paint if it bothers ya that much.

 

Yeah its not real chrome its chrome look a like. Remove the parts and scuff and paint and be done with it.

 

I saw a write up from someone on here or another forum that did it. Just pulled out the vents and scuffed them and sprayed them black. Looked real good. Trying to find the link no but no such luck.

 

I have a STX that had the chrome handles!! I've got rid of all chrome on my truck!! Hate chrome! Ill get a pic later

 

Do you think if you sprayed them they would smell and put out fumes when the a/c is on?

 

My 2004 XL does not have chrome in the interior. The AC outlets are plain black. I bought some AC vents for my 89 at the dealer. They were cheap. I would expect the 04 vents would be cheap also. My door handles are also black along with the radio ***** and the fan and temp *****. Don't know if they're the same, but replacing them would eliminate seeing the backing when paint wore off. Just thinking.
