heres a simple write up!!
Sorry gents, i been sleeping on this write up. basically what i did was open the ac vents, then reach in with my fingers and simply pull the vent assembly out. it requires a good tug but its doable. then with the vents exposed, you can reach in there with your drill. i found a super long bit that allowed me to drill into the back of the duct at an angle vs. putting the led up front.
THIS ALLOWED ME TO DO THIS MOD WITHOUT THE LEDS BLARING LIGHT AT ME. ITS ESSENTIAL!
at this point you just drop in your led holder, reach in and fasten it. Be careful while drilling, the plastic ducts give really easy. its very easy to tear a hole bigger than you need.
TRUCKIN150- you dont need to take apart the whole dash, just the glovebox, the panel under the steering wheel, and the panel that is visble on the side of your dash when you open the door. The side dash panels make access to the two vents easy, then you just have to struggle with the middle two. i reached these by popping out the bezel where the cd player is. Taking apart these panels is simple, it can be done in 15 minutes! the two side panels pull rite off, the glovebox has screws visible on the bottom, and the under the steerin panel hand clips on the bottome, then screws.
two wires were pulled across the bottom of the dash, and each of the wires coming off of the leds was tapped into these two. the main running wires were tapped into the headlight switch, then wired to its own switch. thats all it is to it! takes an hour or two to do.
i have a write up comin on leds under each seat, and door handles as well, i just need to finish my 64 impala project!! good luck gents, thanks for your interest!!

just type in "pre wired red 5mm led" without the quotes. theres a 20 pc set for like 6 bucks.
you should also buy some of these
http://cgi.ebay.com/25-pcs-5mm-LED-B...item3ca6ccf2d0
thats how i held the leds in place inside the duct, makes quick work of everything.

Cool but i got a better idea
Ive benn wanting to put green leds to match gauges, ac controls, ext. and when i put my aftermarket radio in i was using a website for wiring the cool thing is there is a lummination wiring in the radio ( when you use the light dimmer **** near the headlights switch) it will dim the lights on your panels.... so if you splice in to those wires...your lights in your gauges will match your selected brightness on you light **** and they will automatically turn on when you have your headlights on auto lol heres the link to the wiring http://www.fordf150.net/photos/showp...hp/photo/30808 note use numbers 3 and 4 ( pos and neg ) have fun !

they'd have to be PRETTY powerful and light up the whole cab and even then the cop would have to be a ***** about it. If the LEDs were visible from the front window, such as if you put them in your defroster vents, well that will get you a night in jail
