New switch panel...what do yall think?
I made a new switch panel for my truck...it is big enough to hold 6 switches but right now i only have one on it. what do yall think about it? i have been told that the screws dont look good but i couldnt figure out another way to do it. any suggestions on what to use? but i kind of like the way the screws look...opinions?
also any ideas of fun electronics to put on the switches? right now i have the lights in the front on it. and ideas that i do have are air horns, lights on my back bumper, and some interior lights under the dash. that still leaves me with 2 possible switches...hmmm any ideas?

Looks great there. I would like to add a lil attention to the screws; Get some perminant marker or touch up Black and paint the screw heads black! I might do something similiar on my extra pocket!
Man I think it looks pretty dang good! I might just have to get you to make me one becasue I've been needing a switch panel like that and that is a smart place to put switches! I think the screws actually look pretty cool in there! What type of plastic material did you make it out of? I know you used the frame for your radio but what about where the switches are mounted to?

but i did forget to mention one thing for those who may be wanting to make this, i had to file down the radio install kit thing quite a bit to get the back of the switch to fit in the pocket area. you should be able to find smaller switches but i wanted this one because of the red light on the tip. so that is just so yall know to look out for that
I'd get some black pan head screws at the hardware store. You can see how the screw head isn't flush with the plate you made. They should probably have something black too. If not, permanent marker. Nice job on the panel though. Good idea, I might do something like that for some reverse lights I've been pondering.
i drilled out a spot big enough for the head to fit in but i couldnt get it right into it so i figured this was good enough...they are sank in a little but not completely flush...maybe i will fix that this weekend...i am putting my reverse lights on this weekend so i will have another switch to add.

Look around. I know on my switch panel in my boat there are plastic covers that snap on right over the screw head to hide the screws.

for these

i had to get new switches because oreillys doesnt sell the other ones any more...so i went ahead and bought 5 of the other ones (all they had in stock
) from autozone.
i really like the way the switch panel looks with 2 switches on it now...i can only wait until i have the whole thing filled up. haha
and the back up lights im figureing are pretty good for being free...just had them sitting around from my explorer i used to have. they sit a little too far down for me...but i didnt feel like making brakets because im gonna have to replace the bumper soon anyway because of rust. so im good with how they are now...i wish they were a little brighter though.

I have a 98 and Im thinking aobut puting my switches right there but I have a flip out screen so I wont be able to really get to them. Where is another spot to locate the switches for the fogs in the 97-03 F150s? Or do they make a different dash kit with the opening at the bottom?
all the dash kits i have gotten work either way...in the instructions they say it is recomended to put the pocket up but i have done it both ways. I just opted to put them on top of my stereo because i thought it would look better.
on the 97-03 if you are sitting in the drivers seat down by your right knee is a little spot that makes a good spot to put switches as long as they aren't the long flip style. The smaller ones look great down there though.
