Switch for Headlights fell off...How easy a fix?
Like the title says, my switch for my headlights fell off. I can put it back on and turn the headlights on...but I obviously cant pull it out for the fogs.
How easy is this to fix?

Not that bad , pry out the face plate - it should pop out about a half inch - theres a lever inside on top of the body - pull it to the left I beleive and the whole unit slides out of the dash.
Also there a twist turn combinnation you can use by turning the switch itself that does it easier - it on the internet - google it , it's in your manual as well.
I'm surprised it broke off , never heard of that happening.
Thanks for the help jbrew.
In case anyone is looking to do this, I found the thread. I dont think this would work in my case because the switch snapped off somehow...not sure how so I'm going to go to my Ford dealership tomorrow and see how much a new switch would cost.

Mine came off the other day, and I looked all over for just the ****, but no one makes a replacement it seems. I am gonna try fixing mine with some epoxy or something. The only thing broken is the little catch that the **** is held on with. I can turn my fogs on if I pull out the **** very carefully, but if I forget, it just pulls right out.
Hawkpilot...that sounds exactly what happened to mine.
I'm surprised that noone makes a replacement part for it. I used to work at the Ford dealership down the street from me so Im going to stop down there and see what they think or at least see if they've seen this happen before.

I can't find a salvage yard that has F150'S sitting in them that you can pluck parts off of . I bought one of those after-market antenna's , absolute junk!! I just want my stocker..
Yes ,
Ford has replacement *****, but they are not cheap!!! Mine broke off I super glued the pieces together. But I got a new one it was $25.00 at the dealer. What they did was look at the **** to see what they had in stock, & found one thats looks like the OEM ****. But its for a different switch. I haven`t even used it yet. Its in my glove box of my F150 now, just in case I need it.The Ford part number is.....3L3Z-11661-AA. Ihope this might help out.

Headlight **** fixed!
I got creative with some brass shim and some JB Weld Putty. It ain't pretty but it took me all of 10 minutes. I just cut a sliver of (0.020 or so) brass shim stock (about 3/32" wide) and wrapped it around. I crimped it around the corners of the crucifix shaped plastic socket with needlenose, and covered it with JB Weld putty. As it hardened, I shaped it with an x-acto knife to make sure it would fit inside the clear circular part of the switch housing. I used a jeweler's file to smooth the edges of the brass part where the little finger clips in.
