Any vacuuming secrets
Any vacuuming secrets
Ok the other day I finally got to clean the interior of my truck. The problem was that our vacuum is not the greatest. What do guys use?Are there any worth looking at as I have been given the go ahead to purchase something strictly for the garage. Thanks for the input.
I'm sure there is some super-duper vacuum out there that is geared towards the professional detailer, but I've always had good results from my Craftsman shop vacs...
What I've found is that the accessories are what are key. I always use a 2.5" brush attachment as my main vehicle tool. It does a great job getting up pet hair (which is our bane).

I also use a beater brush attachment if I have lots of flat surface to get. Sorry I can't find a pic, but Sears sells it as an accessory.
Biggest tip?... Keep your filter clean and breathing.
Good luck with your search!

I got the Craftsman from Sears that is tall and skinny, hangs on the wall. came with all the attachments and is a great one. I have had several over the years and this is the most convenient to store and does the job. We use it to vac the carpet on the stairs and to clean out the windows and hard corners in the house.

Small hand-helds can do the job, but are often too bulky to use in the vehicle. I have a 20 year old Royal dirt devil that is a great vacuum, but only on stuff like my bedrug or motorhome.

The head and bag combo is simply too large to get into the nooks and crannys in the cab.

I just use my regular house vac, I put a shopping bag around the bottom of it, put it next to my truck, attach hose & vaccume, I always have it on light suck because having it at full power will make your carpet look weird and you could ride it along the bottom trim & risk scratching it

I flush my interior out with compressed air. Open all doors and just blow it on out..
