Factory Mats are junk in 04-06 F150

Two months ago I traded in my 2003 screw FX4 Lariat on an 06 King ranch 4X4. My driver side floor mat is smoked already, the spot where my heel sits is worn through to bare rubber underlayment. These factory mats looked kinda sad compared to the ones in the 03 but I didn't realize they were this junky.

Moral of my tale is that I took it to the dealership and with a look on my face like Tony Soprano would have when asking for something he wanted kindly "asked" them to order me a new floor mat under warranty. They did and I actually got all 4 King Ranch floor mats replaced free, which I will take out of the bag in 5 years when I sell the truck, now it sports highland floor liners.

When the truck is brand new as in like 90 days old you can pretty much get anything replaced under warranty regardless of how minor or questionable it is, take advantage of it.

Thanks for the tip, mwd. I wasn't impressed with the OEM mats, either and have already upgraded to Catchalls.

The OEM rubber mats in my FX4 are holding up great! I never have liked carpeted mats.

Agreed! The FX4 matts are the bomb! For the price of the King Ranch they should have some bad @ss matts too....

The OEM Rubber mats are great. Had them added to my XLT when I got it at no charge from the dealership. Took the carpeted mats home and placed them in a bag so they can be brought out when I eventually get around to trading in many years.

All of the OEM mats in Fords are pretty sad. That includes my 01 Screw, 05 Expy and 05 Crown Vic. I replaced all of them with heavy duty rubber Wal Mart mats. It's a shame a $7 Wal Mart mat is 10 times the quality of the OEM mat in a $40 K vehicle.
