How to remove dog hair

Anyone got a tip for getting dog hair off my black carpet? I didn, realize how bad it was, till I took out the passenger seat. It was all down between the console and seat, and a vacume wont get it up?

By the way, my dog gets away with a whole lot more than I would ever let a human get away with in my truck!

Maybe those red lint brushed they sell in drug stores? Just a thought...

No problem

Get some duct tape and use the sticky side to blot the hair ---- it will stick to the tape and after that piece of tape is full of hair discard it and use another fresh piece. I use a cut off piece and wrap it around the duct tape roll sticky side out and use the roll of tape as a lint roller---- works great. Use a small piece of tape and stick it on a pencil eraser so the sticky side is facing out. Use the pencil/tape to get down into small crevases, removes debris that a vac can't even begin to remove.

I use a lint roller and a special brush they sell at "farm + fleet" it's really rubbery with little teeth. -About the size of your palm. Just one sweep with it, and it'll clump all the hair together. Then I follow up with the lint roller.

One of those rubber gloves for washing dishes (remember when you did them by hand) works great. Put them on and sweep the rug, the dog hair will collect where you can easily pick it up.

Hair & Lint Extractor

Meguiar’s Extractor quickly and efficiently removes pet hair and lint from carpet and upholstery. As the bristles of the Extractor brush along the surface, a small static-electric charge is produced to draw the hair and lint into the brush. The long bristles are ideal for carpet and deep pile while the short bristles work great on upholstery.

I had the same problem yesterday, 6.5 horse shop vac doesn't even touch the dog hair! Golden retriever hair on black carpet I started with the duct tape, what a pain in the A. Careful if you drag the tape it can leave adhesive on the carpet. Dish gloves sound like a good idea, I try that next time.

Just use the same brush you use to groom the dog. A few passes over the carpet and the hair is gone. A dog brush is designed to pull up all the loose hair from within the fur, it does the same on your carpet.

This is a VERY good tip.

Ask just about any pro-detailer and they'll mention that this works -- and works exceedingly well.

I use this on client vehicles all the time... cheap and ULTRA-effective.

I got one of the Meguiers brushes, but it is a pain to use. It works like it is supposed to, but it's still alot of work. I'm going to try the dish glove next time.

Rubber sponges work well too.

Unfortunately, I know this situation all too well!

Exactly why my dog stays outside, not even in the house. It's a lot easier washing the hair out of the bed than pulling it out of the carpet.

Good luck

Go to you local fedex and grab a bunch of the airbill packets, the the little packets you stick on the front of a box. one side is super sticky and after you rough it up and get what you can with the duct tape and lint brushes, try one of those. you'd be amaized what those things can do. Trust me i have to yellow labs. hahahahahaha good luck
