60/40 seats on 2003 xlt

Can anyone tell me if the 60/40 seats in the 2003 XLT are the same as the 2001. The 2001 does not have an individual head rest, it has just the high seat profile. I think there was a change for the 2003 in which they used an individual and adjustable headrest.

I think you are comparing the work truck bench seat rears to the XLT seat rears. All XLT seat backs that I have seen had head rests.

No, I am talking about the front seats on the XLT, the 60/40 standard seats. My 2001 does not have an individual head rest, it just has a very high tapering back that acts like a head rest. I am getting the 2003 and need to know if my add-on seat covers will work on the 2003 seats.

I think they changed the seat design in 2001. Some 2001 Ext. Cabs have the seat belt attached to the roof of the truck, with the high back seats and the new design has the seatbelt integrated in the seat itself with a individual head rest.

I believe that eswartz is correct. They did do a few modifications for the 2002...

If hes talking about a regular cab, they dont have the integrated seatbelts, so its just a highback seat still. The supercab, 01 and up is the only ones that have the SIR.

Cool

My '01 XLT 'Screw has a separate headrest on all four corner seats.

I also have the 60/40 front seat (for now)...

My 2001 XLT Supercab has the high back seats, the shoulder strap of the seat belt is off the roof. We are talking about the front seat, 60/40, standard seat.

I ordered a 2003 XLT Supercab with the 60/40 front and am wondering what kind of back seat it will be, the high back like I have now, or a regular back with a seperate headrest. I guess I would also have to know if the shoulder seat belt is still attached to the roof or from the seat.

I have a really nice pair of custom seat covers from my 01 that I would move to my 03 if I knew if they would fit. Dealer didn't have any trucks with the 60/40 as he only order Captain chairs for the lot.

Yo! I figure its time for me to stop lurking and start posting

my 2003 xlt that I got last week with the 60/40 bench seats have the seat belts attached to the seats and adjustable headrests (meaning i can move the head rests up and down for diff heights)

the seats actually look like pw1981's signature picture in the second reply of this thread...(except instead of the middle console theres a middle seat with a fold down console)

The seat integrated restraints started for the 2001 year. The VERY EARLY 2001s still had the non integrated restraints. Your 2001 was a very early build. All current ones are SIR in a supercab.
