2016 f-150 fog lights flicker...

So I took the HID's out of my moms 2013 before selling it because I saw that they would fit her new 2016.

Today I decided to install them. All went well until I started the vehicle to back off the ramps and the fog lights started to flicker. Doesn't matter if I have the head lights on or just marker lamps, the fogs flicker with the vehicle running.

Do the new Fords run a canbus system like the Dodges? Do i need to buy an "anti flicker" kit? Or would a relay harness work??

Yes Ford runs a canbuss system. So did your 2013 surprised if didn't happen on that truck.... And yes you always need a relay harness when running HIDs. The start up amps can fry wiring.
Just a PSA those HID fogs are going to glare and blind oncoming traffic.
Upgrade your fogs to the morimoto XB replacement LED housings.

What the other guy said, yes they run Canbus... You can buy (i can source it for you) a canbus adapter which MIGHT fix the problem. I didn't have any luck when I tried it on an LED headlight set (not my own, a cheaper one I got when i FIRST bought my truck).

I had flickering lights, the guy sent me a Canbus adapter, but it still did not help.

SOOOO it might not help you BUT it might work... not sure.

PM me if you need me to price it out, i can't guarantee it'll work as it's not my own (it's honestly from TRS, i sell all their products) and the lights I sell don't require them... but hey it's worth a shot if you want to re-use those HID lights in your fogs

Or as the other guy said again, you can upgrade them to the morimotos. They are available on my site as well for purchase (or even go with the LED conversion kit, which is a bit cheaper and gives you way more light output).

But if you want to save $$ you can try the canbus adapter.

Weird. I put hid's in the headlights and fogs in her 2013 and didn't have to run any "anti flicker" bs and had 0 problems. A local shop here said they have a set of the anti flicker boxes. I'm going to try them out tomorrow and see what happens.

I'm aware of the glare...I'm going to aim them down a little. And for the headlights I'm going to order the HIR bulb tomorrow thanks to all of the input from you guys 😊

So a guy here in town at a local shop said the regular canbus boxes for dodges don't work on the new 15-16 Fords and that he has some new special ones on order that cost about $200. I'm not sure if that's for the whole HID kit, or just the canbus boxes.

Anyone else have any input on this? Are you 100% sure your LED's don't flicker on the new 16's??

Works for me. The Retrofit source.com, click drop down bar, find LED fog light assemblies, click, scroll down to 2015+ f150 LED fog lights.

Link worked for me but if you are going to buy them, why not support a site sponsor/vendor:

http://www.4x4truckleds.com/vehicle-...rd/f-150-2015/

The Morimotos are there as well as the XHP Series 6000 Lumen fog light bulbs as well.

If you need the Canbus, PM me, I'll add it to my site so you can order it. (Canbus not needed with XHP Series or Morimotos)

I know 100% that the XHP Series lights that I sell do NOT flicker, as I run them as many others do. The Morimotos I've never personally used but they are very popular so I don't believe they flicker at all, otherwise we'd have heard about it.
