Need some reverse Light help

So I have a 2014 F150 that I am attempting to install some Vision Xreverse lights on, They are LED that draw next to no currant. The Issue I am having is that they blink on and then shut off as well as the OEM lights in the tail lights. I direct wired them with out using a relay or switch. I had this same set up on my 2012 and 2010 F150 with no issues at all. Can some one help me out

Direct-wired them to where, exactly?

tied into the reverse light wires going to the tail lights. I am trying to figure out how to wire in a relay with out a switch. Not sure why the direc to reverse lights worked on my 2010 and 2012 but not the 2014
If I run a a positive and negative from the battery to a relay then splice into the hot side of the OEM reverse lights to act as a switch into the relay, that should work correct

So - direct to the positive-side of the reverse bulb socket, correct? And Grounded to the chassis?

Likely Difference between yer 2010 and 2011:

Post current spec fer the light yer using.

Relay will indeed work - and all of the wiring info you need was in that thread you already viewed: https://www.f150online.com/forums/il...hting-mod.html

Ensure all runs to the back of the truck are run through protective wire loom, with soldered/waterproofed connections, and fused appropriately.

No need to run a negative wire all the way back there - there are convenient chassis ground points out back you can use.

good luck

All the post I saw had the wiring with a switch. I dont want the switch. So you say dont run a negative wire from the battery back. Just ground it in the rear of the truck. Using the Hot side of the OEM reverse lights a the switched power to the relay is correct

Yep.

You need to decide what to use as the +12vdc source, (switched or unswitched - hot-in-run, acc, etc) that the N.O contacts will use to actually drive yer reverse LED's.

I was planning on tapping into the OEM reverse light positive side source to go to the switch power of the relay (86 Pin) on a standard four pin relay

Pin 86 is the coil ( Pin 85 the coil return). So - yer running +12vdc direct from the battery then ( to connect to Pin 30 )?

correct pin 30 direct from battery, Pin 85 ground, pin 87 power to new LED reverse lights, and Pin 86 switched hot power from OEM reverse Lights
