There is no cheap way about it. Unless you buy a kit to put in your stock lights, which nobody will recommend.

You can buy them already dun. If your stock headlights are in good condition, I believe you can send them in as a core and probably spend around $500.

 

so by the looks of it my only option will be retrofitting if i want hids the right way. but that much money isnt an option at the moment. so what recommendations would everyone have for upgrading my stock halogens until i have the money for a retrofit.

My recommendations:

Philips XtremePowers or Sylvania Silverstar Ultras.



The Ultras have a blue tinge to them that gives them a whiter light, but they are only guaranteed for a year (you should be replacing your headlamps every year anyways- two years at the most [Halogen cycle is very inefficient]). The Philips last longer and they both have the same amount of lumen output. If you've got stock bulbs, either will be a definite improvement.

 

How did you wire the hids into the stock headlamp wire?

And - What specific HID's are you referring to, on what specific truck model? We ain't mind readers, y'know.

If it's a retrofit - just follow the instructions supplied by the kit's manufacturer.

However - If it's a Crap PnP system, find the nearest garbage can and donate it to Oscar
