Anyone running led headlights

I just recently upgraded my headlights to the lighting version with the small projector hi beam. The high beams are great, but the low beams suck. Has anyone tried the led style headlights? If so how do you like them (pictures are worth a thousand words.)

You talking about the depo brand? I have those. Ya the low beam is sub par.. Those cheap led spyder lights are junk..horrible fitment and horrible output.. You can do a retro with those same lights just like I did.
If not just upgrade the 9007 bulb to a ge night hawk platinum and call it a day. Also tho you should upgrade that 9005 to a 9011 (HIR 1) allot better output and perfect alignment

Yes, I have the depo headlights and fogs. I looked into the hir 1 but thought it might be to hot for the projector. As far as the low beams go I was talking about the ones from ebay that are now using the CREE leds, I have several flashlights I have built using the cree emitters and they work great. I just dont know how it would work on a grand scale. I wouldnt mind seeing the conversion you did if you have links to the write up or build photos.

What crash said about the leds..
An HIR 1 wont be any hotter then a normal halogen. They are designed this way to run more lumens with the same amp draw and heat output. I have them and love them.. let me see if i can find my write up for you.

Those will be blinding tho. But glad you are at least getting a relay.. Maybe try 35w tho.. They are gonna glare any way but 35w isn't gonna be as bad as 55w.

I know of several guys testing and building their own LED emitters for primary lightning and its expensive and also very hot. Not to mention the amount of optics needed is quite a few. Its best to stick with HIDs in a proper HID projector for now.
