HID Headlights

I just bought a 2013 Platinum with the HID lights, I love the lights and the way it looks but they move when on rough roads, I took it back to Ford and they took the headlight out and these things are mounted on a rubber mount from what I can tell which means they will move and that isn't right. Is anyone else with these lights on the 2013 seeing the same thing, it is very annoying driving down the road and your lights are flickering. Would appreciate any feedback.

I've read this a few times before. I believe it ended up being the projector bi-xenon cut off shield.
The rubber you might be seeing is probably just the back where you gain access to the inside of the light.

Best bet. That's what warranties are for.
Have them change the projectors or whole head light assembly

Took the Platinum back to Ford and they changed the whole headlight assembly's on both sides, they are a little better but there's still a problem because I still see movement but not as bad as the others, these lights should not be moving. They are selling a lot of these trucks with these lights and I can't believe I'm the only one so far that is complaining.

Any buddy having issue with the eye lid not returning to bottom when you put on low beams. Mine has the driver side sticking unless you get out and bump the lens to have it come down. Just thought the people were complaining because they are bright. The wife was driving in front of me and noticed that one light was brighter than the other and the cover was sticking at 3/4 instead of half way for low beams.

This is on your stock projectors?
Dang sounds like my problem with my mini H1s.
Ya that's not good take it to your dealer and show them and possibly get a new set of lights..
Also that eye lid is called the cut off shield.

Say what? Did you do ALL of the published tweaks & fixes to the projectors before retrofitting them? The steps are listed in HIDPlanet's forum.

OP & Moose- yep - dealer visit asap - demand they R&R the units until it is fixed. That IS what warranty is for.

Good luck!

I did a few of the steps. I didn't sand the little rod thing that the spring is on. It only has the problem when the lights are cold so I just let then warm up and they are good to go.

Oye!

That sanding of yer "l'il rod" and application of graphite to same is one of THE most important steps! As is stretching yer l'il spring!

Take 'em apart - ye don't wanna be whackin' yer headlites alla time

Oh Double-Oye !!!

WD'in' yer rod ain't gonna cut it - the solvents & crap ( KEROSENE ) will burn off and coat the bulb, projector bowl, and lens.

Remember - Dubya-Dee-Ferty ain't a lubricate - it's a penetrant & solvent.

Good fer sniffin' to git a buzz if'n the beer runs out though

Do it proper, son!

When I did it I was skeptical about taking apart the solenoid. Now I wish i did. Bulbs have since been changed to xb35 4300k..

Who runs outta beer? That's a regularly stocked item where i come from.

Next retro I do plan on doing it right with OEM projectors and bulbs.
