LED Tailgate Light Strip
LED Tailgate Light Strip
Been doing some research on here and also online. Read about three different brands Plasmaglow, LED Glow and Recon. Any suggestions which brand is the best to go with. Any input is greatly appreciated.
I've never heard of LED Glow. Recon is going to be the most expensive and there are some people on here who love them and some who hate them.
My Plasmaglow Fire and Ice has held onto the back of my truck for 7 years with the supplied 3M sticky tape and I have it spliced into my PWM for my LED brake lights and it runs great. Nice and straight and no hot- or burnt-out LEDs. Pic in siggy

I bought the cheap one from O' Reileys that has the Red and White LEDS. I cant remember the name off hand, but it looks identical to the one in Raptors signature. When in reverse it is all white, and the sides are independent when the flashers are on. It came with a lifetime warranty and i've had it trouble free for about two years now. It may have been denzo? Not sure. I believe it ran me about 40 bucks and they had it locally. Worth a shot as i've read more bad than good on the more expensive brands on here..
I wouldn't go with anything offered from the shelf. Bully and Anzo are crap I fully believe in you get what you pay for. My Plasmaglow was $75. But like I said, 7 years old
Anzo is what it was.. I have nothing but good to say about it. Looks identical to the expensive ones and I had it bought and installed the same day. Lifetime warranty only made it better. Of course everyones experiences are going to be different and me, personally, only put pretty much the best quality stuff on my truck. But for half price and a full return warranty it was worth it for me. I believe in you get what you pay for and this has been one of those exceptions.
I had an Anzo...for a day. I didn't want to wait to order online so I went to VatoZone. The LEDs varied in brightness and one of the wires had a cold solder joint on the board straight from the package. I took it back, got my $40 back and went online and bought my Plasmaglow
That's exactly what I was expecting when I bought mine as well. Two years later and it looks exactly like the ones that cost double what it did. Oh well, I'm happy with mine and you're happy with yours and I'm pretty sure both of our quality expectations are exactly the same. Just a matter of luck either way.
