2013 F150 to Offer factory HID Projectors

Well it's about time, finally the full-size truck market will see factory HID lighting. Most likely an option on the higher-trim models, but I'm not totally sure.

My only concern is that people will need to re-aim these things when they lift or level their truck. Otherwise, a fantastic move for Ford. They actually look pretty good too. While expensive, hopefully people will purchase these as a lighting upgrade as opposed to the cheap, glaring PnP HID kits.

i'm hoping that ford either put an auto leveling system on them or adjustable angle system. The fluted lens really dumbs down these projectors, but its better then nothing

True, but even when a OEM fluted/fresnel/frosted lens HID equipped car is cresting a fat hill it is bright as hell, a lifted rig with these non-leveled is gonna be worse than typical 65w halogen high-beams coming at you.

haha yeah I know. Those are the only time I get flashed. I feel so bad for those people. Its a small price to pay, but:

A.) at least you arent blinding them 24/7 on level ground like PnPs
and
B.) you are going to get blinded by halogen reflectors cresting a hill too. so

Hey do you know what HID bulb type the 2013 Mustang projectors use? Picking one up soon, gonna fit the projectors with clear lenses and upgrade the bulbs to CBIs if they are D2S. If they are D3S then it'll be Philips Ultinon 5000k, which is probably the case since most manufacturers are switching to D3S for lack of mercury and such.

Ford uses nothing but D1S/D3S and I'm willing to bet its a Valeo 2.5"

I just hope that the 2013's will have LED taillights to match those HIDs
