Added 6" Off Road Lights behind grill
Added 6" Off Road Lights behind grill
Just wanted to share a few quick pics of the lights installed. I also painted the grill black vs that ugly greyish color it was.
Still need to run the wires, but I like how it looks. Can't wait to see them at night.
Install including fabing up a bracket for them and removing the bumper etc was about 3 hours.
Only concern I have is that the lights will get hot enouph to melt the plastic cover on that cross bar behing the grill....it's right under the light. Not sure what the purpose is besides covering up the metal. We will see.
Feel free to post up your comments.
Thanks,

Thanks,

That looks pretty sweet. I think I would found some LED's to do it with and keep the temp down but you should be OK on these without them melting the plastic unless you are planning on running them for some long periods at a time.
I will try to take a pic of the bracket I made and how I mounted it.
I haven't had time to run the wiring yet, so when I do I'll take pics of the bracket as well as the light out put at night.
they will be on for long periods of time, sometimes, as I'm planning on using them as driving lights.
They 100w each....pilot lights I picked up at pepboys for $49. Came with the wiring and everything. It has a glass lense not plastic. I looked at them and compared them to some KC lights and they seem very identical. Only difference I could see was the KC lights has KC written on the top.
I'll try to compare the light output when I get everything hooked up.
I would have used LED's but no one seemed to recommend them and I was on a budget.
Thanks for the compliments.

Here is a picture of the bracket. I went a little heavy on the weld, but it's wanted to make sure they stay in place.

Here are some pics of the lights. I still need to adjust the lights. I think they are pointing up to much. Thoughts/Suggestions?!

Well no wonder you need those extra lights, with that dark tint on your headlights...lol Are those light purple hues on the garage door your headlights?
I'd like to do this also, but with some LED lights.
