New Lights in Route!
New Lights in Route!
OK so I purchased a set of Smoked LED tail lights that came with a Smoked LED 3rd Brake Light yesterday so things are starting to change. I want to do my headlights too since this will make every other light on the truck smoked including the cab lights.
I found a set of Halo LED Projector lights that I like. But I want to know more about how these lights install and what I will be looking at if I get a set of these as far as work to get them hooked up and working?

Here is a link to the ones I have been looking at thanks for anything you can provide for me.

You will have to tap that high beam bulb into your harness, and tie the LEDs/CCFLs into the parking light wire. I don't know about your level of expertise, but that sounds like about 5 minutes of work to me.
i had the same style headlights only mine where the previous model ones that did have the little clear lens below the three leds and the turn signal portion was a dull gray, not chrome. hook up is even easier than how raptor explained. you will actually just plug them in like a stock headlight bulb since they already have the wire harness good to. just take your leds/and ccfls and wire them together (white to red & black to black) so you have a simple (+) (-) 12v to be wired it. go to local auto parts store and get you atleast 4 wire taps and tap into your running/turn signal light wires to get your ground and you power for them. they could also be wired to a switch if you know what you're doing..
p.s. hids work pretty good in the low beam projectors despite what everyone will say, atleast they where on mine. they are not as good as a true hid projector but there is a nice cut off line and pretty good output, especially seeing the fact that these are a whole housing and still half price of a complete retro-fit kit..

Stock output from them though isn't gonna be that great, most likely worse than oem. But yea hooking them up is easy it took me more time to get them to line up correctly in my truck than it did to hook up wires which took all of 3 minutes. They look cool, but don't perform great. If you plan on dropping hid's in them might as well spend a little more and do a true retrofit.
so your either in $300 or $400 for a retrofit or $200 for ebay heads and hid.
having used both, i honestly wished i would have just stuck with the ebay projectors and not even wasted my time with the mini h1's. yeah the output on the mini's were excellent (when they worked right) put where nothing but a pain in the *** as where i never had a lick of trouble out of the ebay projectors and the output was definitely better than oem..

spend a little more? he can get these for $150 plus a cheap ebay hid kit for less than $40 plus lets just say $10 for wire taps and what not to round it up to $200 shipped and about 30 minutes of work. now a mini h1 retrofit with ccfl's would run you $295 and idk about shippping. you would also have the trouble of opening up your pita oems or $100 more for ebay heads plus a few hours of labor.

OK so this isn't so bad and thanks for the input on going to the HID's I will look into that. I have already tapped into the parking lights for my cab lights so that will be easy since I already know where it is. I think most of my time will be spent getting the bumper off based on what you guys have said.
Every install I have read about new headlights have said the bumper has to come off. I thought that seemed strange but when you read it over and over you just assume they are correct.
You must have been reading about hondas......f150's don't require the bumper to be removed to take out the headlights.....
