HID Help

So i'm not a fan of the retro fit, and i tried so hard to get my lens off and I jsy cant do it.

I bought DDM 35W hi/lo hid kit and installed, had great luck with the single beam kits in vehicles with separate hi/lo.

Problem is, I have no Lo beams, only hi beams, no matter if the switch is on lo or ho, I have offroad lights on a relay, activated by the high beams and that is always on.

If I can't figure it out then is there a 2 bulb conversion harness available, i'll just add some ebay projector housings.

When you wired the bi-xenon lights did it come with a relay harness for the highbeams to be activated? And either way you'll always have hi beams technically because the hid bulb sits in the high beam location.

You couldn't get your lens off? Throw it in the oven for 8 minutes at about 260 degrees. Very easy

Yah its got a relay harness but the bulbs do not retract.

and I couldn't get my lens off, I tried a few times and just gave up, if my lights cause a lot of glare I might just get some ebay housings with 1 projector and retro fit a hi beam one later on

I know this is gonna sound dumb, but when you wired them in did you make sure you didnt swap the high and low on the harness that plugs into your stock one?

Nope, the relay harness plugged right into the 3 prong from the truck, then goes to a module and then a relay and to the ballast with a small wire giong to the bulb, theres almost no way to mix it up, everything plugs in one way all you have to do is add electricity

Just for trouble shooting did you try it with the harness for the off road lights unhooked?

So with the fuse pulled you still had no difference between the hi/lo and the offroad lights didn't come on correct?

The relay they sent you could be blown or it could have blown the first time you used it causing it to get stuck in the closed position so it thinks the high beams are always on.

Not with permaseal. Abouve 20 minutes at 230* and keep prying will get them open.

Yeah but those can't even touch a retrofit. What year is your truck? That would help me help you.

If you have a 1997-2003, this is your problem. All chinese harnesses come plugged as a 9004, which is exactly the same as a 9007 except the high beam and ground plugs are backwards. You have to swap these around. If you have a 2004+, disregard.

Except there is not standard Bosch relay, so except for the fuse that should be in-line with the battery, there is nothing to be blown. I'm guessing the reason its not working is because its not getting power, thus making me think OP has a 97-03 truck and has it pinned as a 9004 in a 9007 socket.

I didn't think about that, but I wouldn't think he has a 97-03 truck judging by the lights he posted that he might get, but then again he could just like the style. idk ha

Do you have a DMM? See if the harness/ballasts are getting power.

Either way, I wouldn't put cheap lights in a $30,000+ truck. (see below)

And yes, those HIDs did catch fire damaging his front end. $1,200 in damage. (Bumper, fog lamp, bracket, bumper support, headlight). Why people skimp out on such an important part is beyond me
