Hey there just wondering if anybody has a fix for this problem. My autoheadlights come on automatically so just wondering if there is a cheap and easy way to fix this problem i have never used that option and have no clue how to fix it or how much it cost. 2003 F150 Supercrew. Any help will be good help thanks.

well it started a couple weeks ago but they were just coming on even when the switch was in the off position. last night i pulled out my headlight switch and tested the wires to see wich one has power only when the switch is in the auto position.Come to find out it was the green wire with red stripe on it so i just cut the wire going to the sensor and they stopped coming on in the off position. All of the lights still work normally in the other positions except for the auto for now untill i have time to rip my dash apart and replace the sensor so at the same time i am going to do the led upgrade .This way i dont have to do it twice. Thanks for the comment 2009KR but hopefully it is fix for now. hopefully lol.

are they coming on automatically in the day time when they aren't suposed to? Make sure you don't have any hats/paper/tools on your dash that could block the sensor and make it think it is night time

You're in Canada... you have to have lights on at all times (DRL) iirc

Yes, Canadian trucks run the headlamps at all times. Parking lamps & fogs are off.

So a wild guess would say that the auto function no longer works at all anymore? If it is a daytime running light thing you are noticing, then a single click on the ebrake would kill em. Although, I don't see a problem with driving with headlights on.......

I'm not sure how Ford's DRL function is, but DRLs should be a low-voltage high beam filament. So in actuality, autos should switch from low power highs to high power lows, but seeing as my F-450 Ambulance has DRLs and they are the low beams, I'm going to say yes you are correct.
