quick question about switch

I am wiring up a pair of PIAA 540 xtreme white driving lights, and I have everything done except for 12v power to the switch. It has a wire pre wired into the switch, but I need to know which wire to tap into under the dash. I would like the switch to only come on with the key on, and be able to use them either with or without high and low beams, for instance turn them on by themselves and leave the headlights off. So my question is which wire should I tap into?(color, location, ect. please)

If you are looking for a ignition source that comes on when the key is on, look for the radio's ignition wire. I'm sure you could search the site and find what color it is and its location.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up using the wiring diagram in the back of the Haynes manual and found a wire hot with run/start for the instrument cluster and tapped into that.

Not sure how the switch is set up (could already have a relay built in), but are you running this through a relay and using the cluster wire as the trigger, or are you using the cluster wire as the power source?
