The housing is probably not capable of that much heat, I have projectors with 10000K in both highs and lows and I haven't had any problems. They do make HIDs about 15000K guys. 36000K is your green and super deep blue are your 25000-30000 my buddie has a set of the greens in an fj and a guy I used to ride with had the super deep blue ones I mentioned

thats impossible, because the higher you go in kelvins the lower the lumen are therefore giving you a much dimmer light.

If you noticed that BMW hids look like 12000k but how are they bright? its because they use a lower kelivn lamp and they ion coated the projector lens so it makes the light look deeper but has the output of 4300k

his lights should be dim as hell if they are green

as far as glare goes, yes they will look bright. as far as visibility goes, they will be dim. if your wanting a "different look" dont do 30000k. theres about 348509244 blue hids out there. i made all mine 6000k just to be different in my town. i put 30K in a mustang the other day and yes they look "cool" but i would hate to own that car at night. lol i run 8K in our KR and thats as blue as i will go. i put 6k low beams and 5k high beams in my gf's g6 and she loves them compared to the 12k she originally had me put in there. it all comes down to preference. wanna see? go 8-10K or less. wanna look "cool" and lose all kinds of visibility go higher than 10K. if your talking about ebay halo projectors, a 35W kit will be fine and whoever told you that you need a wire harness is very uneducated in this field. i would reccomend a wire harness for 55W kits though. and ebay hid kits do not last long at all but offer more colors however are usually inaccurate. if you want some form of quality prance on over to retro-solutions.com

I understand what he means by bright.

When you look directly at the lights, I'm sure they will blind you. But they cast almost absolutely ZERO light out of the bulb before it scatters and burns off.

I think you comparing brightness to luminance. Which are two different things.

His 36000K are brighter and cast more light than my 10000K in projector housings, his are just in the stock lights. I think it really comes down too preference, 35W VS. 55W output, the housings and where u get them from as far as quality goes. Whatever u do post pics up so we can see!

there is no way they put out more light than even a set of 10,000K....

post some pictures, if you can.

There is so much fail in this thread, I don't have time to respond to it all. But one simple one:

Ive heard about 50000k where it glows green and has nearly 0 output, but I doubt there even HID's to be able to produce the green light it has to be a black tinted halogen. anyways your wiring harness is fine, the ballast draw less power than halogens, ballast run at about 35watts while halogens run at about 45watts, the ballasts just give the low power a little more punch when they hit the igniters in the bulbs. So your fine, melting harnesses is a myth, people just aren't connecting them correctly. my buddy has had HID's in his Honda for 1 year and nothings happened, and Hondas aren't built a rough as a truck so its pretty self explanatory.
True, the harness won't burn up. However, that initial burst of power for the igniters is often in the range of 19V for the cheaper HID ballasts, and the stock wiring cannot support bursts like that. The ballasts are starved of power and often have a short life, so its your ballasts that die and not the harness. A new harness with larger fuse is definitely a good idea.

And please people, use projectors. The rice look really isn't cool, and glare sucks.
