2018 Ecoboost Low pressure port SIZE?

I am trying to determine why my A/C doesnt blow cold, and wish to check freon pressure... (yes the compressor kicks in, and it does "some" limited cooling, but no where near the term "cold").
Threw away my 20 year old gauge, and bought new can with gauge... but DOES NOT FIT???

The connector seems to be the wrong SIZE.
I tried _very_ hard to force the gauge onto the port, but even with both hands forcing, it just wont go?

I compared the 2018F150 port to 2015Mustang of 11.30mm and 2016Explorer of 11.26mm... and the can/gauge fit on those port fine.

What am I missing?

I betcha it is probably the blend door.

In any event, why would you throw away a tool? So what if it's 20 years old.

I got a manifold gauge set that is 30 years old, still works fine as long as the operator is working fine.

Do your gauges work on a R134a system?

No, not that set. I have a newer set. But I just don't throw them away.

Yes, the gauge is for R134a (unlike my old R12 gauge)...

Sure, it might be other issues... blend door... But right now, I wish to just confirm Freon. And that isnt possible at the moment.

To do it properly, you need a gauge set with both low and high side connections.

All R134a fittings are the same two sizes. The low side port is smaller than the high side port.

Are you sure the '18 F150 is even R134a? Should be R1234yf unless you have a Raptor. See the label under the hood or https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...rigerantEN.pdf

R1234yf fittings are intentionally made so that R134a couplers will not work.

Go watch this video:

That right there would explain it! R1234yf gauges aren't cheap - and adapters for a R134a gauge set are even expensive.
