Ac only works intermittently

Ac only works intermittently

I have a 98 f150 with a 5.4l the ac does not work most of the time but every now and then it will start blowing cold for a few minutes then goes back to blowing warm air the clutch doesn't seem to be engaugeing when I turn on the ac and the freon level looks good

Check the clutch for excessive air gap.

OK lets start from scratch.

Can you point to a sticky or thread or can you explain from start to finish on how to do this? Maybe pics of what is being measured?
