2003 Supercrew Wet Carpet
I was just advised that FoMoCo is aware of a problem with the A/C plenum whereby it can condensate on the exterior and subsequently saok the passenger front carpet. They have said they have no plans to correct the problem.
Anyone else ever haave this problem? If so, how have you dealth with it?
Wet King Ranch.. what a shame for a $40k+ vehicle.
Is that mildew I smell?
Thanks..

Hey I did have the same problem a couple weeks ago. I didnt know where the water came from. Found it while running some speaker wire. I let the truck sit all day with a fan blowing under the carpet and then sprayed lysol the kill the bacteria. Yes this is a shame I also have an 03 SuperCrew

My 2003 Scab has this problem. The drain only extends thru the firewall about an inch. Looks to me like the water runs back inside the vehicle and the foam rubber around the hole soaks it up and drips onto the floor. Mine is not clogged up. I am going to wrap the outside of the hole with aqua seal and put a short drip tube on.

ALL 2003 SCrews
Could you describe the leak, where and how it gets into the cab? Are all 2003 involved?
The moisture comes from condensation forming on the outer surface of the plasitc A/C evaporator plenum up under the passenger footwell.
I am surprised that if this is in fact a wide-spread problem... that Ford would not address it. Perhaps we should start a campaign to get their attention.... now that the 2004 re-design has moved their efforts elsewhere.

zderf you said you took your truck to the dealer for this problem. Did they offer a fix for this or what did they tell you. I know you didnt except ford cant do anything for this problem.
The dealer told me that they have no fix and that FoMoCo is aware of the problem, and has no plans to correct.
I'm thinking that maybe only a riot of owners will get FoMoCo's attention. Other than that, I dry out my carpet on a regular basis...
Darn.

I have noticed that most of the posts are about '03s. Just to widen the issue a bit, I have this problem with my '02 as well. With this coming from condensation on the plenum, does anyone have an idea on how to correct the problem? Like a lot of other Coasties, the humidity in Houston is enough to make things soaking wet with condensate , so this will surely cause pains over time.
If there are any ideas, be sure and post them.
