Guys, I really need help. AC/heater/panel wont turn on at all
Okay every now and then my AC/panel anything related to the air/heater wont work at times. For example I'll start my truck up and it will work fine. Another time I'll start my truck and they wont even turn on. Nothing is blowing out of the vents. Sometimes after a while of the truck being on they will start to work normally. Other times they wont work at all. Any reason behind this and/or fix?
Thank you guys. I posted this in another forum but I have gotten no responses at all. I've been searching all over the net for problems related to this, but have found nothing.

Could be a vacuum issue, some switches are vacuum controlled though I'm not sure about yours. Could be a fuse issue but I'd be willing to bet something's grounding out somewhere behind the dash since it is so intermittent. When your driving a chafed wire could be making contact w/ the frame and still not blow a fuse, u hit a bump in the road and the wire will jump off the metal and ur system will come back on. I've seen this before.
I'd suggest an intermittent connection rather than a short to ground. posssibly caused when the white-face control or the aftermarket head unit was installed.
Might also be a flaky blower relay, a flaky fusebox or harness connection, a bad ground connection, etc.
Is not a vacuum issue as vacuum is not used to operate the blower.
If the failure is common to the blower operation, the panel illumination, and the blend door (temperature control), then I'd focus on a bad ground at G200 (behind kick panel on passenger side).

That picture was just an example, I still have the OEM radio and everything. But you guys think it could be a wire problem? I don't think its the fuse because it still comes on every now and then. So should I just check everything electrical going to the air?
I would. I would look for a bare or broken wire somewhere behind the glovebox or control head. I used to to service and install automotive a/c some many years ago and that's what we would always look for. Sho89 could also be correct too so I would do as he says also. Check all possibilities till you find the problem. Does the a/c get cold when it is on?

You might have said that wasn't your exact truck....
Focus on my last sentance above and determine if the failures have those elements in common. You can eliminate a lot of wasted time if you can identity, specifically, what does and does not work.

and yeah when the AC or Heater is on they both work good.
Like Steve said check fuse relay, not sure where on truck it is though. Have you pulled the control head out yet? It's not all that hard to do
not yet, I'll check the fuse relays and go from there.
