Cant find Thermostat

Okay, I have looked everywhere for the Thermostat. I have a 98 F-150 and can't find the Thermostat for the life of me. I am used to the old style where the Radiator cap has a thermostat in it. I have no radiator cap, can't find the thing for the life of me. Followed the lines and maybe don't know what I am looking for. Can some one help me out?

Terry

Ok, I am confused as well. Are you talking about the thermostat for an air system or are you talking about an engine thermostat. Regardless, I have never seen one in a radiator cap. Nore info please.

I'm having problems with no heat. I am trying to find the Thermostat for the radiator. Trying to troubleshoot my heater problem. But I can't find the thermostat for the radiator.

Ok, that is the engine thermostat and it should be in a housing at the end of the radiator hose, where it attaches to the engine. But, before I suspected a thermostat, I would wonder about a stopped up heater core, a stuck blend door, a bad switch on the blend door, maybe a fuse. Did it work before while you had the truck? A bad thermostat will only cause your truck to over heat if it is stuck closed, or cause it to take a while to warm up if it is stuck open.

I just bought the truck a couple months ago, and this is the first time I tried the heat. The coolant resevoir is a little low when the truck is cold. Are you talking about a fuse? I am not 100% on the terms. Can you point me in the right direction a little more?
