Heat is stuck on!

I turned my A/C on and turned the **** from the hot side to the cold side and it never got cold. In fact, the heat stayed on! How does the climate **** operate and what could be a reason for the heat to be stuck on?
Thanks!

read the blend door and heater core threads. It is most likely your blend door. it is a $800-$1200 fix. You can however do it yourself if you are daring enough. I am about to do it on Sunday. Parts have cost me $75.00. Now 8-12 hours of labor and I will let you know how it went. Look at this thread https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=216009

I assume the blend door is the thing that opens and closes depending on what you set your temp. **** too. My buddy also said that is what my problem might be. I am shocked at how involved it is to fix it. Hmmm...
Let me know how your fix goes and maybe Ill attempt it myself, with some help of course.
Thanks for the reply!

try one thing before you do anything expensive. pull off the **** and turn the rod with needlenose pliers, you may have simply cracked the housing on the backside of the ****. It happened to me. fixed the crack with superglue.

Wow...you guys are really getting screwed! My blend door (the part itself) was like $36. I tried doing it myself (twice). Labor from the stealership was like $560 total. I could have gotten it done elsewhere for like $350, but it was too late.

It is your blend door. I took it to the dealer because I thought it was down on A/C, but the guy checked and topped it up (only needed a little). Then he searched around and finally called me up to say it was the blend door and I gave the o.k to replace. The A/C inspect was $75 and the blend door was like $80. All total about $330 Canadian dollars. Labour and everything. I call that cheap and fixed!

Same thing happened in my 98 XLT - I would heed this advice first!! Easy fix with some 2500lb epoxy
