93 F150 blows thru defroster

I am running my a/c in normal or max air and it works fine. Then suddenly out of nowhere it kick over to the defroster for about a 1 min then kick back over to the vent. It never starts out this way it always happens after I ran for a bit wit h the a/c on. I saw the other post about a possible vacum leak, but if that the case then why does it switch back and forth.

On a other subject the air is not as cold as it use to be does this mean I need to recharge it? If so how much shoud I put in?

You have a vacuum leak that supplies the vacuum motors. It may be intermittent.

A set of manifold guages is needed to perform an accurate diagosis of the A/C system.

Would this be under the hood or in the cab or both?
