Recommendations on head units wanted!

Here is what I want-

AM/FM
Sirius
DVD
CD (compatible with my changer preferred)
and Nav

Touch screen, in dash.

Nav is not a must have, but it would be nice. Like to stay to $500 tops.

Double Din? What brand is your changer? $500 with nav is not going to get you a name brand really if you also have to buy the Sirius tuner too. I have a Pioneer 4100 and love it, 7", DVD, ipod/usb adapter. I don't have sat radio because it isn't for me, but it can be added.

The changer is OEM from Ford, so whoever they use....

Nav is not a must, as I can read a map generally faster than I can program a unit hehe, but sirius is. Thanks for the start.

Not sure what you mean by Double Din?

Double Din is "The US standard for a DIN radio is 2" x 7" and the Double DIN sized radio is a 4" x 7"." - wiki

I am not sure about the change because I have never had one, but you body style takes just a hair of trimming to make a double din fit. If you want a screen and watch DVDs, then this is a must I think.

Pioneer or Kenwood.

Kenwood would be the DDX 514. For sirius you need the SC-C1 tuner and the CA-SR20V cable. You can probablly still find a DDX 512 (last years model) for a decent amount cheaper. It would still use the same interfaces, and the unit itself is damn near the same.

For pioneer (what I have) you could go with the AVH-P3100 or AVH-P4100. The big difference is the 4100 has a 7 inch screen whereas the 3100 has, ummm, 5.8? 5.3? Cant remember off the top of my head. Anyway, sirius for those two requires the SC-C1 and the CD-SB10 adapter. Kenwoods are easier to bypass for DVD then pioneers are, but both can be done. If you have any other questions post up.

Good recommendations; but how much easier is it than a relay, constant ground?

Ipod functionality on the pioneer is by far the best on the market.

I love my Pioneer 4100DVD. VERY easy to use! Ipod hookup is awesome, USB is awesome, and Sirius sat hookup is awesome! Touch screen is one of the best on the market for the price. I bought mine for $480.
You wont be disappointed!

So I guess the reason that my fiance was wondering what kind of head unit I wanted was because her mom wanted to get me one as an engagment present!!!

She just hooked me up with a Pioneer AVIC-F90-BT !!!

I'm looking at the instructions right now, and its doesn't seem to be super compilcated. I'm jsut wondering how I will know what wires are what coming from my speakers.

Do yourself a favor and order a Ford factory harness. It plus into the adapter that plugs into the Ford radio, and has all the wires color coated with a nice map of what is what. You can find them all over the net, or just stop by a Best Buy or some other radio shop, and ask back at the car audio install desk for one.

Best of luck, and feel free to ask us questions. We've all been there man.

Well, after pulling the factory unit out and getting in there, and doing some research, I felt in way over my head. I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow morning, so I just going to pay for the install. $200 seems resonable to me with everything that is involved. I know its pretty chicken, but the electrical stuff really overwhelms me
