I give up. I REALLY REALLY REALLY need your help...
its most likey the speaker or wireing harness that goes to the speaker. i got brand new 5x7 boss's and right away the driver side sounded bad so i took the pair back and he gave me new ones and the prob was fixed. i only have an amp to my sub thoe. and the fronts run off the head unit. my sub has never had this prob and it gets well below freezing here in michigan. speaker gets my vote.
Bvette, it isn't just freezing temps, but I do believe that it is the right front speaker that is causing all of my problems. But, yesterday I did put the speaker in the oven for a few minutes on warm to heat it up a bit, but that didn't fix it, although the magnet of the speaker was moist.
Shifty, like I said before, there is no wiring harness that goes to the speaker. I ran my own speaker wire. It was doing this problem even before I ran my own wire, so it definitely isn't my wiring.

Well I hope everything works out. I know how frustrating it is working out the minor details.
When you told me the other day about your new HU, I didn't relize it was a full double din until I looked it up online. I have been thinking about putting a small system in my truck as a x-mas present to myself. Just the HU, and new speakers. What are some brands, pros, cons, etc.. to some of these systems. I have been looking at Kenwood, Pioneer, or Alpine. I don't even know where to begin with speakers, just too many out there.

Well, I'd say Alpine > Pioneer > Kenwood, although all are quality units. Plain and simple, I put the stuff in my truck cause it was a good quality and I got a killer deal on it. I can get you a discount on Pioneer stuff...

And i just have to ask
How does baked speakers taste-never had it before
What would happen if the freezing temps are actually causing something else in the door to change?
I know that in my 2001 the power windows would get slow and sticky in the cold.
Maybe, something in the door is expanding in the cold temps and grounding out the speaker.

Or power it from another battery and try a different ground?

Turtle, I'm planning on doing that when I'm home for Christmas break.
Deepblue, I don't think its the temps. Yesterday it was 60* and it was still doing the same thing.
